    Question Newb

    Hey guys,

I have had my wii for about 2 / 3 months - all soft modded with things I got from a bunch of sources.
I do just have a few questions tho....

    1) Can i update the IOS's with a program?
    2) whats the difference between the snubs/Trucha Bug?
    3) Is there anyway to upgrade the internal mem?
    4) What do i ACTUALLY need on the sdcard once i have done everything? (BootMii should stay??)
    5) Can we get the features of the new 6.x for the wii rather that updating?

I'm sure there is more just can't think of any at the moment, lol

Did you follow the Softmod Any Wii guide from here? If so you should be good to go. As far as the memory, no! You can leave the bootmii folder on the sd if you want, just make sure to store the nand and keys in a safe place on your pc.

Please be aware that newer Wii's Do not play back up disc from the disc drive. Your only option will be to load from the Usb port.Usb Loading is recommeded as you will not have any lag and if your lazy like me,you won't have to get up to change the Disc.

Before you go out and spend money on a HDD for your Wii,make sure that it is on the Compatibility list. This will save you time and money.

Formatting your Hard drive is not hard.Read this Guide a couple of times and then proceed to format. You will be pleased with the out come.I recommend the fat32 guide ,because you have your HBC/Emulators run from your HDD and your Usb Loaders With out the need of having two partition's.

I followed the mod any wii guide, so I think my cios are up to date, I got them from from wads and think I did 40 or more? Its just I connected my wii to the internet and its giving me "update" dialogs, (which I thought I had blocked...) but o thought there might have been advancement on cios to bring it up to 6.x.

Also can I remove the forecast channel? I've got my wii booting everything I need it to ATM, will be looking into how to boot gamecube games soon.

    Thank u for a reply

Did you install priiloader that was in the guide? If not you need too! After you install it you need to go into it and open the system menu hacks and enable block disc updates and enable block online updates then save settings.

Go into priiloader and do as I said. It will keep you from updating or getting update notices.

I've set them and I still got the update dialog, its not a big deal cuz I'm the only one savy enough to set it up, lol

As far as I can gather the iso's effect game play? Not loading and stuff. As all the games I have boot I'm guessing that - that side of things is covered.

There was some homebrew I couldn't load but I think its my wii being to new? (Its a black one? Lol)

Is there a way to make custom channels to certain homebrew?

Is there a decent Linux release?

    So many questions, lol

Like what kind of custom channels are you looking for? WiiMc is nice for diff things, youtube and shoutcast radio. The Homebrew browser is nice also. Check out http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page
