Us In over her head Mama of 2 boys!

Hi! I am new to this whole "hacking the Wii" thing! I am beginning to feel like I'm in way over my head. Sometimes I think my head is going to explode if I have to read one more post that isn't what I am looking for! I know little to nothing about computers let alone Wii's. My 12 yr. old son wanted to be able to use cheats like he sees on Youtube for Wii Play Tanks game (& anything else he get me to figure out for him lol). I have no clue what I'm doing & it seems I have to learn a whole new language in order to do this. I don't even know if we are doing what is needed in order to use those cheats he has found. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi,
I wanted the homebrew channel so I could use GX Loader. I have about 75 WII games that I want to put on a USB External drive. I have a bad habit of scratching the discs all the time. I think it's cool to have a disc library of all your games. I don'y believe in cheating or piracy. It's against the law

I can understand how Piracy is against the law, I would never do that anyway, but how is cheating on a video game against the law?? And if it is, how & why are so many people doing it & putting videos of themselves out there doing it?

Cheating is not Supported here, that's all.We believe in fair gaming.(Nintendo will ban you if your caught cheating online)
Please do not get offended. We just won't help with cheating and of course piracy.

Again I am sorry if I offended you.

As for the Homebrew Channel, You can run the snes ,nes, sega, emulators and other emulators/games from it,that are not against piracy or cheating.

No, no, no! You didn't "offend" me! lol I am in my 40's, a SAHM, & I have no clue what all this stuff is. I'm just trying to learn. (I never saw a computer until my Junior yr. of HS & the only people that did anything with them were the pocket protector, black rimmed glasses wearing nerds! Now most of you geek guys are cute hotties! I so grew up in the wrong era! LOL) When I saw that this website gives instructions on how to "hack the Nintendo Wii" I assumed that when someone is "hacking" anything they are cheating! They are doing something that the manufacturer never intended to be done. Isn't that why Nintendo won't warranty the Wii once it's hacked?

So, I'm not offended, just completely confused! Now, if everyone's feathers are smooth again I guess I'll tell my son to leave me alone & we're not doing this "hacking" thing!

    Thanks for the help!

As several people already said you wont find help cheating on this site. But a simple search will yield how to hack the Wii. As in homebrew. Then you may seek out what is not avalaible here else where.

Just follow the softmod any wii guide, install your games to a usb loader. The cheat codes are built in to every usbloader and are very easy to use. Just don't let your son cheat on online games or he will likely be banned from online play, plus cheating online is just not right. At your house is ok though, I enable cheats all the time for my five year old, just so she can enjoy the game. Have fun.
