    Cool Hey, I'm 2Hack!

I started softmodding my wii about 2-3 years ago, when my Unle told me about it, and how he was not really sure how to do it. I started to ponder about this, and to start my research about this.
I hacked my wii for the first time with Team Twiizers' Twilight Hack (thank you Team Twiizers). and got so intreasted, but stayed in the Noob path (no Idea what USB Loader GX was or anything like it (wiiflow, configurable USB Loader, ect.))

I eventually Updated the dangerous way as I was still a Noob, but luckily enough, I did not brick it. I sold it and got a PS3.

Later, I got another Wii, as it was irrisitable not to try the new LetterBomb... I was successfull and here I am now...

Learning more and trying to leave the Noob status behind, with your help of coarse!

Hi, good to see that you are curious about wii hacking. I've included a few points you might want to know about:

USB Loaders - these allow you to put games on your USB and play them on your wii. USB Loader GX is a popular USB Loader. Let be know if you want more info on this.

DVD Players - these homebrew apps allow you to use your wii as a DVD player. An example of these is WiiMC.

cIOSs - Custom IOSs are required to play some games which require a newer firmware. NEVER update your wii firmware through the settings, this will remove your softmod! Instead, if a game does not work, check whether a cIOS is needed and, if so, download it and install it by using a guide (see below)

Guides - WiiHacks has heaps of guides for games so if a game does not work try looking for a guide to make it work. The guide will usually tell you exactly what to do in a step-by-step procedure.

If you need any more info, feel free to let me know by posting here or sending me a private message.

    Enjoy!

    Hi,

I think you mean "can I remove my softmod later?"

The answer is no, not completely, and trust me, you don't want to bother. It is very tricky and you won't need to either as it is safe to softmod.

Nintendo updates WILL remove your softmod - never update through nintendo!

However, there will always be traces of the softmod so it can never be 100% removed.

But don't worry, it should be fine and you will love your new softmodded wii!

Probably best to start your own thread in the Newbie section, as the intro section is mainly for meet and greet so to speak.
