Hello from an old PS2 vet

Hello all, first time poster (short time lurker) At any rate, glad to be here at this site! I have been around since the very early PS2 days (Tell me if you remember any of this...)
DaExperts fake PS1,2, Xbox, and GC 'boot disks'
    Neo 2.2
Neo 4 (And the Neo4/Origa NoSwap)
    Led to - Messiah!
Messiah goes AWOL - Begin of the clones...
Gameshark (was it like 1.7) and the DMC Demo disk
Clones clones and more clones of the original Messiah (i.e Magic, Magic2, Magic 3.1)
PS24U (Aka) Casey goes AWOL as a premodder and rips many a people off. (Bad bad situation)
CharliePS2 gets brought up on serious charges in the UK surrounding modchips etc.
PS2Newz changing hands a couple of times
Zima and PS2Ownz - that was drama for your mama...
The PS2 'fliptops' and boot disks

Man, those were the drama filled PS2 days for me. Its been a while since Ive played in the gaming world, but I have still been keeping up on the latest technologies. (Or at least trying to!)

So I got the daughter a Wii for Xmas, and I found a modder in this area that will do the WiiKey2 for me.

Thus far I ahve gathered this much from my time round here -
Only a specific line of LG drives will dump the ORIGINAL Wii games. (All other DVD burners will burn the .iso with no issues.
Watch your region update if playing with out of region games. (Or just play games within your region.)
NTorrents is the place to be - getting in is half the battle

    Did I miss anything?
    Great site!

Excellent! Thanks for the link - I would imagine that will pretty much cover everything
Also thanks for the heads up about the FW Downgrade. I believe I am getting a later model Wii (hence the WK2) I will be sure to take care of that.
    Thanks again

Holy crap, someone who studied the forum before posting a question. Quite the rare breed.

LOL Yeah, I tend to lurk in the places I have an interest in before I post any questions that arise. Needless to say, I have many unfinished projects...

76 Beetle in pieces waiting to be restored (halfway done)
    2 poker tables I built
And my latest endeavor - homebrewing Hopefully this one sticks, but I guess my 'hacking' days are still quite alive and well. (I work in network security for a living)

Thanks for the welcome fellas! Look forward to posting here!

    scottkeen.com?

I studied threads in that forum for days maybe even weeks before coming up with a final design for my poker table. I'm glad that is done!

LOL Yeah, thats exactly where I was floating during my builds of my tables. I still frequent that place, but it seems as if many people have fled due to the owner going 'silly'. I went to the perfect man cave (briefly) and thats what got me started on homebrewing.

Talk about an addiction! (And I still havent cracked my first brew!)
