    hello -- from california

Hi all I stumbled upon this site recently looking to for answers to some wii tuning questions. I have had my wii since launch and currently it is 3.2u, but have found that the wii doesn't have TOO many games that appeal to me besides the big ones such as mario galaxy, zelda, smash bros... etc. I was more into the VC games and when news broke of a homebrew, I took the chance and started immediately installing some VC games. Fast forward to recent times, I started playing my wii again and wanted to buy animal crossing but not lose my wads. So i needed to learn more about tuning and here I am. I have done a lot of reading and I now need to get an external HD if I wanna play new games without buying them.. sounds great. Also I learned I need a bigger sd card to use bootmii because mine is only 256mb... LOL. Anyway, I hope to learn more about IOS#s and new things I can do with my launch wii. Hoping to learn a lot from this site,it looks very helpful!

Currently I am learning how to install IOSs so I can play newer games without updating my system menu and also read from USB. Thanks!!

Hi and welcome to WiiHacks renandabomb

If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, Softmod for any 4.2 written by Shadowsonic2

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

And please do donate to the forum if you are able so we can go on helping the Wii community.

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
