    Hallo everyone!

    Hi Everyone,

I am very new to this, so please excuse if some stupid questions might cme your way. I am also from South Africa and lots of the things I am reading about is very new to us, or at least new to lots of us not browsing that much.

I have been reading up about the Wii hacking and only very recently bought my Wii black Ver 4.1u. I am very interested in the things that the Wii can actually do! My problem is that it is very confusing reading things about hacking the Wii and CIOS updates, software to be installed on the Wii and playing backup games as well as dvd's and music. I have been fiddling around with the hacks and managed to get the Homebrew channel working fine, but the various software I get doesn't really work all that well. I presume it is because I don't really know what i am doing. I am sure I need some kind of update or something, but like I said, it get very confusing, because no one actually tells me exactly what I want to hear.

I would really appreciate some help if anyone can.

Hi and welcome to WiiHacks duke

Here is the site index wiihacks ultimate index written by ShadowSonic2

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

And please do donate to the forum if you are able so we can go on helping the Wii community.

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
