    Hi from the UK

    Hello all,

I have hacked Wii, with 3.4e

Reaally wanna use it to its potential, but very scared as there are apps for 3.2,3.4,4.0,4.2 etc. and I dont want to break it.

Neogamma sounds cool, as does using a usb loader ( usb loadergx??) some kinda preloader too.

Any advice, links to guides fo 3.4, would be appreciated. Any other apps I should have?

I have read lots of guides, confused now.

Seriouslly though, step by step please

Please be gentle, its all new to me, you were all beginners once

    Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to WiiHacks duffvader

If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

Here is the site index wiihacks ultimate index written by ShadowSonic2

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

And please do donate to the forum if you are able so we can go on helping the Wii community.

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.

If you have homebrew working, use the guide, 4.1 with homebrew. Its pretty straight forward.

The folders on my SD card are, Apps, Pc and Temp

    Where do I drop

    1) cIOS249 rev14.

    2) IOS60patched.wad with wad manager?

then I guess Waninkokos Firmware-Updater runs from homebrew, and I dont update the shopping channel on anything?

    Sorry, I'm a bit scared

    follow this

    What you will need:

    a) Homebrew Channel already installed

    b) cIOS249r14

    c) Waninkokos firmware updater 4.1

    d) Patched IOS60

    e) 300+ free blocks in your Wii memory

Copy the app and wad to your SD card and do the following:

    1) Install cIOS249 rev14.

    2) Install IOS60patched.wad with wad manager.

    3) Restart your Wii.

    4) Now run Waninkokos Firmware-Updater_4.1 and follow any prompts until it's finished.

If you are using cios38rev14 installer, put ios38-64-3610.wad file in the root of the SD card. Each programm needs its files in specific folders, so pay attention to that. Can also be a bad wad or not enough space on the Wii. Possibly formatted the SD card incorrectly.
