    Introduction

    Hey all,

Great site! I'm relatively new to the whole Wii hacking scene. I didn't even know it existed until I saw a post on lifehacker.com around June, but once I found out about it, I was enthralled. Within a week, I installed the Homebrew Channel (I just researched it a ton first to make sure I wouldn't brick.) Since then, I've gotten at least four other people to install the HBC, and they all love it.

I've never installed any cIOS's or anything yet; so far I've stuck to emulators. Playing through Mother 3 on an actual TV alone was worth it. Unfortunately, I know nothing about coding, so as much as I would like to, I can't help create any awesome homebrew.

As far as message boards go, I'm kind of a lurker. Hell, I've been a member of one forum for the past 4 years, visiting every day, and I've only amassed 400 posts or so. I signed up here about a week ago, and have visited every day, and it took me until now to finally post an introduction. But anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon this site, and I look forward to being a member here.

Hi and welcome to WiiHacks AdrenalGnash

If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

Here is the site index wiihacks ultimate index written by ShadowSonic2

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

And please do donate to the forum if you are able so we can go on helping the Wii community.

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
