Red face *bows* Please take care me!

Hi! I'm Agk, and I'm a total newbie in the world of Wii hacks. I'm so thankful for all the wonderful people out there that are so much more tech-savy than I am so that I can simply leech off of their intellect! I absolutely love my wii and the fact that I can now use it for more than just games (but mostly games, of course, =^-^=) makes me super happy!

I'm also very, VERY thankful that I found this community. It has already served to clear up alot of my confusion concerning all the terminology, hardware, and software basics that had me totally stomped for the last few days as I stumbled through the net. The newbie corner is totally for me, and I'm not ashamed to say that I had taken total advantage of everything that it has to offer. The wii terminology guide was esp useful!

Since I'm a totally NOT tech-savy girl that is most likely going to run into alot of confusion and problems in her wii gaming career, I predicate that I'll be come back here again and again to beg for some much needed assistance. So...

Please take care of me from now on!! *bowsbowsbows*

Hi and welcome to WiiHacks Agk

If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

Here is the site index Ultimate WiiHacks Index written by ShadowSonic2

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.

Thank you very much! I have actually already got homebrew on my Wii. It's the 4.1U (I think). I have also partitationed a 100GB HD and formated it with the WBFS manager. I got the USB Loader GX up and running with no problem for most of my games (Paper Mario, New Super Mario Bros, Twilight, and Mario Brawler), but I actually am having alot of trouble getting any of the Wii cooking mama game up and running. Every version of the files I tried keep giving me a code dump when I start up the USB Loader GX if I have either of those two games installed, but everythig runs fine once I delete those two games.

At first, I thought it was because the files I have tried have been either scrubbed or compressed, but I just learned (from this community also) that it shouldn't matter since the Loader should just strip the scrubbing. So now I have no idea what is going on...which section on the forum do you think I should post my questions?

You could check the game compatability list.
USB Loader v1.x Game Compatibility - WikiTemp

To check your ISO, burn a disk, try Neogamma.
I have Running on my HDD using GX and I have the standard settings.
002fix on. Don't have cooking Mama, my wife mostly does the cooking.
    Maybe I should get it.

I actually run across that compatwiki just today and I found that both cooking mama game is in the green and should work. So....*sigh* I have no DVD, so can't check that...but the file I downloaded have been proven to work by a number of downloaders....so....*scratches head* I have no idea what's going on....and I just downloaded that new Mario game before Thanksgiving, too....*sigh* wonder if there's no hope....

Humm...that sounds really simply and reasonable......so it probably is what's happening.....I'll try that when I get home. I wonder if the initial update right after the new mario bros has bugs that broke the uploader.....*falls over* if this is really what is wrong, I'll be so thankful...no matter how noob it's gonna make me feel. Thank you!!

Edit: Ha...ha...haa..<.<....>.>...x_x....I updated the GX....and....no problem any more!!! *yay* However.....god....I feel like an idiot for not thinking of this in the first place.....*dies* Thank you for all the help!!!!
