Playing Backup Games on wii 4.2E

Hi Everyone! Hope youre all having a fine weekend!
Hey, here is my prob. Ive just got a wii and my wife updated the firmware to 4.2E. (Nice 1!) I have installed the homebrew channel with no probs. I then went on to install the latest revision of cIOS, I found R14 to be the latest. When I start my wii, i go through the Homebrew Channel to install cIOS38 R14. When the screen loads to install it "Saying Press A" from this point my wii controller is unrecognised and I cannot press A to continue! Im really stuck and dont know what to do ? Any Ideas ? Is it possible to play backups if I have revised my wii system to 4.2E ??

Thanks, any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Lol Gunn.

It will be possible to play backups when you complete the mod.
Is it a new Wii above serial number LEH 2682XXXX , if so it may have a new Drive chip, D3-2, which will prevent playing disc backups, but you will still be able to run from the USB.
Hi and welcome to WiiHacks lolgunn

If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
