My first posting might as well be here. UK, Oxfordshire based 36 yo for anyone who cares.
Still not sure whether I think the Wii is all it's cut out to be.
Gaming Chronology started on an Acetronic in 1977 when I was 4, Intellivision, Atari 2600, 7200, ZX81, ZX spectrum 48, Spectrum 48 with SAGA keyboard, Commodore 64 +1541 dd, Megadrive, NES, SNES, 386 sx33, Playstation, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, XBOX, Gamecube and finally Wii (but more for the kids) - I wanted a XBOX 360.
What I had noticed was all of the above had at least 1 game that I would have happily bought and would still (nostalgia based)happily buy the system to play. Sure the graphics may not stand up to the test of time but the overall impact offers a great gaming experience.
Mario Galaxy is ...OK to look at but...
I haven't found a game that truly stands out to justify forking out all that money. 'Rabbids go home' had me laughing out loud but 30 minutes later...
Mario Kart Wii is fantastic but then so is every other version of Mario Kart, and I really hate the wiimote steering, it just isn't responsive enoughand I end up using the gamecube controller.
Now there's a point. The Wii is brilliant at playing Gamecube games. but then so is my gamecube.
Now to find some threads that'll change my opinion.

Hello and welcome to the wiihacks community.
I know you are anxious to get started; but, there are a few items to cover before you post your questions or start doing anything to your Wii.
Make sure you read the rules of this site. There are a number of tutorials and guides available to assist you. Many of our new members find the tutorials for softmodding any 3.1-4.1 Wii and any 4.2 Wii particularly useful. Make sure to either look through the site tutorials and guides or use the search function before asking questions. While the moderators, staff, and members of this community are willing to help you, some effort on your part to read, research, and follow the rules is expected. To get the best response to your question(s), post in the associated forum areas. This is very important as inappropriate posting could get you restricted to the reading room or even banned. If, after looking at the tutorials and trying to search, you still need help or just want to post a very basic type of question, go to the http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-newbie-corner/.
Wiihacks also has a chat room on irc://irc.uicn.net/wiihacks . After reading the iRC rules, please feel free to join in the light-hearted chats and activities. While any IRC client can connect to #wiihacks on the UICN , there are tutorials to help you connect using either ChatZilla or mIRC.
If this site and our members have provided substantive help, you can Donate to the forum and get a nice banner under your name and gain access to the donator forums.
