    Wink Hello from Japan

    Hi guys!
    I'm new on the forum, as well as the whole wii scene. I just bought a Japanese Wii (since I live in Japan) and have modded it to use System Menu 4.1U using the AnyRegion Changer. So it's fully English now, and it makes it much easier for my wife (even though she can understand quite a bit of Japanese)

    I have cIOSCORP 3.5 installed to allow me to play my backup discs without having to use a launcher (since DLCs wont save on my SD card for some reason) and (obviously) the Home Brew Channel.

    A brief background on my Wii;
    When I first bought it, it came with a (I think) 3.3J System Menu, and due to my noobishness I updated it to 4.2J via System Settings. However, I was able to install HBC using the guide found here, and I was also able to downgrade to 3.2J, using another guide. After that, I changed the system region to US (using AnyRegion Changer) and updated the system to 4.1U. It was only after I realized that my downloaded DLCs wont save onto my SD card that I decided to risk it and install cIOSCORP 3.5.
    As of now, the Wii is working nicely. I have to make sure I burn the DVDs well for them to work with the Wii (my burner has a minimum speed of 4x). For stuff that dont work with the Disc Channel, I prefer the NeoGamma Launcher.

    I look forward to being an active member here.

    Hello and welcome to the wiihacks community.

    I know you are anxious to get started; but, there are a few items to cover before you post your questions or start doing anything to your Wii.

    Make sure you read the rules of this site. There are a number of tutorials and guides available to assist you. Many of our new members find the tutorials for softmodding any 3.1-4.1 Wii and any 4.2 Wii particularly useful. Make sure to either look through the site tutorials and guides or use the search function before asking questions. While the moderators, staff, and members of this community are willing to help you, some effort on your part to read, research, and follow the rules is expected. To get the best response to your question(s), post in the associated forum areas. This is very important as inappropriate posting could get you restricted to the reading room or even banned. If, after looking at the tutorials and trying to search, you still need help or just want to post a very basic type of question, go to the http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-newbie-corner/.

    Wiihacks also has a chat room on irc://irc.uicn/wiihacks. After reading the iRC rules, please feel free to join in the light-hearted chats and activities. While any iRC client can connect to #wiihacks on the UICN, ChatZilla, for those with Mozilla’s Firefox browser, is easy to install and use.

    If this site and our members have provided substantive help, you can Donate to the forum and get a nice banner under your name and gain access to the donator forums.

    Reading your introduction, I see you won't be needing the softmodding tutorials. Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. Enjoy your stay with us.

    I'm sorry, dzul. Legend Fryingpan appears to be a prank spammer. Pay no attention to those posts; I will be deleting them from all over the site. I'm sorry your introduction to our community was sullied in this manner. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to seeing you around the site.

    Hi dzul1983,

    I face exactly same problem you've already overcome - i'm also in Japan and today carelessly updated to 4.2J via net, now i'm seeking for safe way to at least downgrade it to 3.2J. You noted some other guide that you used so i'll be apprecating if you point me to that resource. I've reinstalled HBC.

    Thank you in advance,
