Wink Wonder how to burn ISOs that work

    Dear all,

I am a new owner of a Korean 4.1U Wii, serial LK....... My Wii has a channel named Disk Backup, and no HBC. I am quite new as you can see. am not even sure if my wii is soft or hard modded (but I know it is modded any way :-))

My question here is about burning ISOs that work, I have tried with many ISOs, NTSC and PAL, I just burn them as they are to DVD-R with NERO 6.x, my Wii just gives a black blank screen with no message whatsoever.

I am concerned about my DVDs, especially Wii FIT DVD, and I really want to be able to store it in my computre and create an ISO of it and use it instead of the original (my little kids will sure destroy it soon :-)).

Any idea (101 level for newbies :-))
    Thanks to all

Make sure you use DVD-R Verbatim or Taiyo yuden discs and burn no faster than 4.

Thanks Cressida for your reply. I will try these brands in the future, however, I've read something about "patching the iso before burning it" I do not have clear details on this, any feedback concerning this point? i.e. Do I need to do "something" to the ISO itself before burning it?

    Thanks again

If the iso is pal and your wii is pal no, if it is different region and you dont have some sort of region free protection, you will brick.
Have you tried any copies of originals, to see if it is actualy modded still, and do the backups load through b/u launcher or Normal disc channel.

This is quite valuable, so we have the element of "Region"... from what I see, my Wii is region free, It is the Korean Wii (this is Region 3) and it is NTSC (suggested by the version 4.1U) yet, I use the DVDs I bought from Egypt (Egypt is not Region 3 and not Region 1) and Egypt's TV system is PAL and not NTSC... this makes me think that Region and TV System are not a concern for my Wii.

The other point, The vendor gave me a backup to prove that the Wii is modded, and this backup launches from the b/u launcher, while all other originals I have launch from the Normal disk channel (and from the b/u as well).

Thanks for your time and valuable help

    Hi, and welcome to wiihacks.

Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions. Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums, or you could be sent to the reading room (if you want to know what that is, search.), or even banned.

We have some new wifi competitions in the planning stage at the moment that you might want to consider joining (they may need to be payed for, but its still fun ). you could also Donate to the forum and get a nice banner under your name, and access to the donaters/MK player forums, and have a chance to get other items, like Ntorrents Invites.

We also have an irc chatroom on irc://irc.uicn.net/wiihacks (if you know how to use it it can be marvellous). Please read the irc rules before joining. Hope too see you there!

I hope you have a great time at wiihacks, and that i see you around!

    regards, ΘΣ
