    Hi, from India

Hi guys, I am from India, and just joined WiiHacks for obvious reasons. I have a Wii since last one year, and its still unmod. I got it during a trip to London last March, and so far, got WiiSports, GTPro, WiiPlay (for the 2nd remote), Wii Carnival, Mario/Sonic at Olympics, Twilight Prices, Crossbow Training, Sports Island games with me. So little for one year, right? But getting original games from UK to India for last one year was not easy. I got myself three remote, two nanchak, two weels, The Wii accessories pack (incl tennis racket etc), and a gun attachment.

I wants to soft mod my wii, but I am a good internet surfer on wii as well (due to lack of games with me, i used to play flash games on wii internet channel). So, I am already on 3.4 update. Now, I am a bit confused if I should go for the soft mod or not. I have read some of the tutorials here, and continue to read more. I will ask question where I have some doubt.

For the time being, its hi from my side to all the people (or should I say, Miis) here.

Welcome to Wiihacks! (lol I'm also Indian)
If you want to softmod your Wii, Round up these items:
    An SD card under 2gb
Something like a PSP, A digital camera, a cell phone, etc. (So that you have something to connect to the computer with and write files with)
    TLOZ: Twilight Princess

Once you have all of these, here's a wonderful tutorial:

Make sure to download the Homebrew browser!

    Good Luck!
YES! I finally finished my Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas port for Mac! I'm so happy

i do have the game, and 1 GB SD card, with a card reader. and my wii is connected to my wi-fi as well. Also, i m ready to downgread it to 3.2 as well, the only point where i m worried abt is, if power failure happens during the installation, and with my 512 kbps airtel connection, it took more than my invertor can handle, what will happen... any suggestions? i m also looking for something which can be installed from the SD card itself, and does not need net connection. Sorry if I have asked stupid question, as most of the tutorials talks about net connection while installing homebrew channel.

search about the twilight hack..its the first step you need to modify your wii without actually opening the case or anything...you also need the twilight zelda game for this method...(i hacked mine on the first day i learned about this method and site, its pretty easy just takes some trial and error)

also if your a visual learner try youtube and search softmod wii

You don't need to downgrade your wii, just download the 3.4 version here!

thanks for the quick reply, and yes i wants to try it, but if we still stuck to 3.4, nintendo may update the firmware without asking me, as part of their changed user agreement in 3.4, and also i heard that we may not be able to run backup copies of games if we are on 3.4

Sadly, you cannot run backup copies using 3.4, but you can use a certain program to downgrade your system menu to 3.3. Then you can run backups.

Sorry, I forgot the name of the application that downgrades the system menu...
