Us Wii Controllers Not working after update

I am a rookie to all of this. A while back I used letterbomb to hack my wii. I then installed pimp my wii v 2.20 I think. I took my Wii to my Aunt's house in MD. While there we wanted to play MJ experience and the Wii said I could not play it unless I did an update. I got nervous and unplugged my SD card. I did the update and it said it went fine. We played MJ and then I went back to playing roms. Well when we tried to go back to playing the wii two of the controllers wouldn't work. I have a total of three. My memorex controller has no problem syncing and that is the only one I can currently use. The two Wii brand remotes will not sync. The lights just flash and then go out and I can't use them. I did all the common sense stuff like change batteries and hold red buttons for syncing but still nothing. I did the scan and fix through pimp my wii 2.28 and it says there are no issues. What else can I do to get my remotes to work?

Unplug the power to your wii for about 10-20 seconds. Plug it back in and when at the health and safety screen hold in the red sync button on your wii for at least 20 seconds. This clears the sync memory. Try syncing again.

You have to resync the remotes. Straight from N:

    What to do:

    1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
    2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to be synced. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
    3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED on the front of the Wii Remote will blink. While the lights are still blinking, quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the front of the Wii console.
    4. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

This sync procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.

I have done what the illustration at least 20 times. It is not working. I went and tested my remotes on another wii and all three synced right up. Is there a such thing as a partial brick? I will test remotes again once I get home.

    Working again

I don't know if syncing them up to another wii helped or not but when I got home they synced right on up. I can use all three remotes again. If anyone else ever has that issue again they should give it a shot. Thanks to everyone that chimed in.
