Play Backups with softmod tools? Help!

Hi guys, New to this forum and wii modding in general. I'm very interested in installing the homwbrew channel to play backups of wii games using the softmod method. i am currently using the latest offical wii firmware which i think is 3.4e. Am i right in thinking that i need to downgrade my firmware to install the homebrew channel to launch backups? I seen a few posts on other sites with confusing tutorials. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction of successfully installing and launching backups?

    Many thanks

    Hey mate,

Yes, For an unmodded wii you will need a legit copy of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Also an sd card, Once you have those use this tutorial to install HBC and gamma loader, Or check out the bottom link for other loaders available

thanks for your help. just a quick question... in the tutorial it say rename file Twilight3.4.bin to data.bin... does this mean rename from Twilight3.4.bin to Twilight3.4.data.bin or just data.bin. probably a silly question.

Just data.bin, If it was to the other way you said it would've said "Twilight3.4.data.bin"

Its a pretty good tutorial, Go through it nice and slow and read everything carefully, I don't think you'll have a problem, If you do but, You know where to come at least

    Cheers.

    This will help:
    USA users
Additionally, you need to determine the correct save slot to load once inside Twilight Princess.
The easiest way to check your version is to compare the text string which is on the inner cycle of the data surface of your Zelda: Twilight Princess game disc with the ones below.

    Region-------------Inner Circle Text---------------Save Slot
    America (USA) -----RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN---------TwilightHack0
    America (USA) -----RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA--------TwilightHack0
    America (USA) -----RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA--------TwilightHack2

You almost had it gruntlord6, But hes on pal,

Region Inner circle text File Save slot
    Europe/Australia (EUR) RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN /private/wii/title/rzdp/data.bin Twilight Hack

So use the rzdp folder, delete the data.bin file in there, and rename the twilight hack file to data.bin

Also, If you follow the emperor of canadas tutorial, by the end of it you will have gamma loader installed, Its one of the last steps listed there
