    DIOS-MIOS Lite

    Dios-Mios Lite - PoC by crediar
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DML is a tool which allows you to run Gamecube games from the front-SD
    interface on a Wii.

    This will be the last version since as I mentioned already I have no time
    to work on such things anymore.

    Please support me and don't reupload it, just use the posted link

    SNEEK+DI - Installation
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Download MIOSv10 from NUS and decrypt it
    2. Use FixELF to create the patched MIOS file:
    FixELF 0000000c.app DML.elf 0000008.app
    3. Assure that BC is installed to your virtual NAND
    4. Navigate to the BC folder on your NAND
    /title/00000001/00000100/content/
    5. Replace the 00000008.app file with the just created patched MIOS file

    Note: "00000008.app" is the name of BC when BCv6 is installed, if using
    a different version just replace the larger file!

    6. Simply pick the Gamecube game from the SNEEK-Menu list and start it
    via the Disc-Channel.

    Other - Installation
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    UNEEK+DI: unsupported
    RealNAND: untested

    Removal
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Simply get a clean BC wad from NUS and install it.

    General Info
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DML requires SNEEK r157 or higher.
    SNEEK r168 is required for audio streaming games to work correctly.

    A Wii or GC game disc is required for DML to work.

    DML outputs some log info via USBGecko and also some parts to /dml.log.

    DML uses a cache system for the patches. After the first launch of a game
    all further launches will be much faster.

    FAQ
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Q: What about a version that uses USB?

    A: That's sadly not possible due a hardware limitation.
    Same reason why DIOS-MIOS was discontinued!

    Q: Where is the source?

    A: There won't be any source code, sven gave me a license free version
    of his SD/SDHC code.

    Q: What about those games that are not working, will they ever work?

    A: As this is the 'final' version the answer is they won't.

    Q: My Wii suddenly switched itself off?!

    A: When a fatal error occurs a debug message is sent via USBGecko and
    DML shuts the Wii down.

    Game Compatibility
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Generally most games work, audio streaming games 'work' but do not play
    the audio played via audio streaming.

    Also some games that use custom .dol loaders don't work.

    Question Wii shuts down

    Hello there,
    I've been following several guides found around the Web lately, and I've come to these conclusions:

    -My 4.2E soft-modded black Wii CAN access the SNEEK(+DI) menu
    -But it CAN'T read a proper GC rip (I mean, I did them myself before selling them cause I wanted to buy an Xbox 360S)

    --> What happened?
    -I turn the console on, and then select the installed app to go my emulated NAND, which gives me access to the SNEEK menu (either by the GC controller, or by the Wiimote)
    -Everything is OK so far, except the "little" problem stated above...once a game is selected, I click the Disc Channel, which fades to black as usual, then the Wii powers off all by itself.

    --> What do you need to know?
    -I installed SNEEK+DI through Modmii 4.6.1;
    -I made backups on my own NAND (through Bootmii & FS Dumper) and GC games;
    -I converted my GC isos with DiscEX & Modmii (both won’t make a difference);
    -I always put an original legit game in the tray (either Wii disc or GC disc, just in case), but also tried without;
    -I used a 8 GB Sandisk Extreme III & a “standard” 2GB Sandisk SD cards with the SAME files inside, combined with a 320GB Iomega HDD which satisfied me plenty so far (for the config. USB loader).

    If you need any more details so that we might be able to write a happy ending to this story, please let me know by any means.

    Thanks in advance!

    I've been down the same road you are right now. I got a few games to work: Ikagura, Soul Calibur II (choppy video though), and goblin commander. For some reason, it seems that games that are around the 1GB to 1.5GB range don't ever work for me. Also, I keep getting a "corrupt memory card" message when the game does it's usual memory card check before the title screen comes up. I take it memory cards aren't useable at this point?

    Modmii came up with an update to 4.7.1 which worked for me. Have you tried making a default bakup nand through Modmii? Then all you have to do is copy your import folder and shared2 foler from your bootmii (or fs dumper) nand backup to transfer your settings from your regular nand.

    Also, have you used the -c command on DiscEX.exe? Not only it restructures the gamecube iso internal files for efficiency, but it compresses it pretty well (usually saving about 25%). The command is: discex.exe -c game_filename.iso/gcm

    On a similar note: does anyone know of any progress made yet for running apps on sneek di? I heard thru the grapevine that the setting can be enabled, but it's buggy as heck. Furthermore, I'm assuming that audio streaming is still a no go at this point?

    I really thought usual memory cards would work and I'm sorry for this problem. Then I guess you have no other way to create save files ? Damnit !
    BTW, I wonder what's the size of your games that are working, because finding isos that belong outside the 1-1.5GB range is not quite easy...(seems to me)

    EDIT : unless you're talking about compressed games with the -c command

    I'll certainly try that, I've noticed this update but didn't really use this function...Thanks

    I'm not quite used to the "cmd box" so I'm always trying hard to figure out what is the right command...Thanks again for your precious advice, I'll also try to do that.

    Audio streaming should have been enabled since SNEEK rev168, I guess that's your version as well ?

    I have good news for you. :-) Download "nand-aes-dump.exe" and it will have a shortcut cmd link in the .rar package. So wherever your cmd file is it will automatically set up your dos directory path. This means no more typing in the drive letter, then :, then folder directory, etc. Now all you have to do is type in your desired command! in this case: discex.exe -c game_file.iso/gcm. Just make sure that your cmd shortcut link is with your discex.exe.

    Hmm. As for Audio Streaming, i have sneek rev 168. Maybe Im confusing the terminology a bit: Basically, I have sound effects, but no background music.

    Im also thrown for a loop on modmii b/c when I compile sneek+di with it, it says that sneek+di can load apps of SD. But its a no go for me. Did the author of modmii mean that apps can load off of regular sd cards only?

    Quick reply :
    1) Haven't tried your method yet, but I found the file you mentioned. Will give it a try in a few hours...Thanks a lot !

    2) Maybe I am confused as well. Audio streaming names are such a pain...If I remember well, Starfox Assault was part of them. Can you quote names of such games, the sound of which is not 100% reproduced ?

    3) I am not sure I understand your question : are you confused about SD / SDHC, or about SD (Secure Digital) VS SD (Sneek+Di) ?

    "I am not sure I understand your question : are you confused about SD / SDHC, or about SD (Secure Digital) VS SD (Sneek+Di)?"

    Well, basically I'm trying to load my apps off of SDHC (4 GB) when using Sneek+Di, but when I load up homebrew filter (provided by modmii) it doesn't recognize my SDHC card (and usb..if that's even worth mentioning..). I even injected Homebrew channel 1.0.7 into my nand dump and still no bueno..

    As far as the games with no background music:

    Goblin Commander
    Soul Calibur II
    Zelda- 4 swords
    Ikagura

    Hello, I read on the internet that DIOS MIOS LITE works better on Wii's with boot2 bootmii...
    My Wii uses bootmii as IOS..

    If I install DIOS MIOS LITE in my original nand (not emulated one) would it works better?
    How do i do it?

    Thx
