Are there any media players that do not rely on the sd card to run?

I was wondering if there are any players that can play videos from the hard drive through a channel and not need run via the sd card.

Basically, I tried WiiMC channel but when I remove the sd card, it doesn't play. I only have one sd card and two wii's that I am setting up. I can't keep sd cards in both.

I can't seem to find it, so I may be mistaken on that. I thought I saw it in the HBB really. I assume you are going to be using an hdd or usb device on those wiis anyhow, just use them for wii mc

Hey thanks for looking. I couldn't find it too. Can I install wiimc on a usb flash drive instead of a sd card? If not, how do I put it in an external hard drive?

if you already have a hdd, run it from there, but you can't have both a thumb drive and a hdd

So, how do I "run" it from the drive? lol Do I take the app file that contains the wiimc app and put it in the hdd or thumb drive that contains the movies?

Edit: nope that didn't work. I dragged all the contents from my sd card to the thumb drive containing an avi but no go. haha
