    n00b needs help with homebrew.

Hey guys, sorry in advance because im sure this has been discussed before.

I attempted to use the sd card method of installing homebrew and failed, when i tried to copy the hack to my system memory i got the message "cannot copy file".

So, i noticed there was a selfbooting iso method for people with modchips, only problem is, im not the most computer smart person and i can't find and guides to help me through the iso method. Help me, flame me, whatever, i'd just like some help.

    Thanks in advance

I forgot to mention, im using a 2GB micro sd card with a sd card adapter, does this make any diference?

    Need more information ...

What's your current system firmware? (Wii dashboard, Wii logo in corner, settings, it's listed there)

Also, there's no such thing as selfbooting .ISO's for modchips. The modchip will alter the dvd drive chip, which allows you to play a "Backup". There's nothing done to the "Backup" to make it play.

If you wanted to go "chipless" ... you're going to have to install the Homebrew Channel, to possibly downgrade the firmware, to install the Backup Loader Gamma.

@e3NiNe: I've managed to install the T-Hack and Homebrew Channel, downgraded my Pal Wii v3.3E to v3.2E using EmperorofCanada's tutorial [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register], installed the backup loader Gamma, burnt a couple of backup games using Verbatim DVD-Rs BUT still no luck. What I got when loading the backups thru BL Gamma is a black screen with lots of codes that says "Exception (DSI) occurred! a bunch of codes underneath it and then "Code Dumped/er" and a set of more codes.
    Can you please help? TIA

Admiral: Forgot to mention, I've also installed the cIOS36 & menu patcher which I got from here:[Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register].
Menu patcher would not install, came up with a -2011 error.
Restarted Wii, loaded the backup game via Backup Loader v0.3Gamma and got the black screen error. Please see attached the screen dump requested.

EDIT: Also tried to load via the disc channel - "cannot read disc" error

try installing CIOS_Fix.wad, it should fix/help you
if that doesnt work, try removing the SD card, and booting from the channel

CIOS_Fix won't install. tried removing SD card, boot from both disc channel and backup launcher channel. Neither worked.

Here's what I've done to date:

. bought the Wii with v3.3E
    2. Installed Twilight Hack beta1 and Homebrew Channel beta9 (which had cios36r7 (249). Have not deleted either one of these and followed Jiprah's tut (changed all elfs to dols).
    3. HBC beta9 worked so I installed 2 wads using Waninkoko's WManager v1.3 and also installed Backup Launcher 0.3 gamma. Launcher didn't work to play backups so,
    4. Followed EoC's tut on downgrading firmware to v3.2E. Everything installed fine from following this tut EXCEPT for installing Cios_FIX.wad which would refuse to install (twice with -2011 errors I think) so I jumped to the next steps (STarfall & BAckup loader installed fine but Backup won't run - comes up with a black screen, freezes the Wii so unplugged power cord).
    5. Downloaded orestaki's root.rar folder. Followed his instructions but menu patcher won't install. Had error "...not recognised as system menu"??
    6. Restarted Wii, boot backup disc using both disc channel & backup launcher channel. Both occasions had black screen with "Exception DSI occurred" and codes.
    7. Still Seeking help.

EDIT: tried again and cIOS_FIX.wad is now installed. Also managed to install IOS36-64-v1042.wad & menu patcher - restarted Wii, boot up backup disc via both disc channel and launcher channel (ejected the SD card) BUT still getting the "Exception DSI occurred" & code dump 23/12/08

    I have these ios on my system: 4, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21, 22, 28, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36 (IOS36-64-v1042 & r7, 37, 38, 16, 51 & 249.

I am getting this error as well, but only when I try to run the NES emulator. I can run the genesis and SNES emulator with no problems, just the NES one gives me this error.

I know it's not related, but maybe could help someone else figure this out. I have the 3.4 firmware because I bought a few N64 games. It's my understanding that the N64 emulator doesn't run at full speed.
