Unhappy First timer needs help installing Homebrew Channel

Guys, forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I've read all those stickies related to this and can't find an answer.

First, I have a D2Pro9 modchip updated to the last version (1.7, I believe).

Second, I have the latest Wii upgrade (shows as 3.4U).

Third, I have never done the Twilight Hack or installed homebrew.

Where do I start if I want to install the Homebrew Channel? I have read that you can't after 3.3 if you didn't do it before. Is this true? Also, the official site talks about a self-booting disc for people which chips, which supposedly doesn't require you to do the Twilight Hack first. It does say that it works only for menu version 3.2 and lower. However, if you go to the FAQ's, one of the last ones says "October 23 came and broke the beta8 installer, so we released beta9 which works with everything", but the downloadable file I mentioned above is beta8. Where is this beta9? I'm really confused. Not only as to how the entire process works, but also as to whether I can even do this provided I have 3.4.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

Thanks for that link. Now, there are steps 1 through 3. However, just before step 1, there's a section called [Homebrew channel install with Twilight Hack]. Must this be done before step 1? I guess not, since this is what I am trying to achieve and can't because I'm on 3.4. But why else would it be at the beginning of the instructions? But when you read step 1, it requires that you have the Homebrew Channel installed. Huh? I really don't get it. I can follow instructions, but most of these assume you already have some knowledge apparently I don't have. Please advise again.

Yes. This is all prep work before starting the actual hack.

Congrats man. Great job. You'll be surprised at the number of folks who can't execute the hack properly. Be proud!
