What kind of servicing does it need?

I was also just wondering if it's possible to unmod a Wii. Like if for some reason I no longer wanted it modded (Can't see that happening), I'd just like to know how.

I was wondering that too because I've been unable to update my wii since I soft modded it. I do, however have two theories:

    1. Update your wii if you can. It will automatically remove all of the modded software.
    2. Format your wii system memory. I haven't tried this but IN THEORY it should work.

If none of this works, I would try to remove all the things that you can (without bricking your wii) with a WAD manager.

No. That will not work. We have a guide on here for removing all softmods to make your wii a virgin. Don't have a link handy, but it's on the site. Don't simply format your memory

Even if you virginize it, Nintendo will still be able to tell that you have softmodded it.

Have you tried a lense cleaner?

I've been looking for this tutorial, searching for it with words like "unmod" and "virgin" and can't seem to find it.

I'm trying to find a guide to unmod/vigrinize a Wii running 3.4U, and all I can find is a broken link to an old guide made by Dogeggs, from this thread: http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...odded-wii.html

My Wii was hacked back in early 2009 and hasn't been updated since, except for some minor fixes to run some backups. I've been following this guide: [Removed Fail Tutorial] but hit a wall when I tried to install SystemMenu-v289.WAD with WadManager and got the 1035 error.

Didn't think it was worth starting a new thread for.

Anybody have any direction as to where I can find a tutorial on this site?

Why do you want to do that? Stop following the other tutorial immediately.

Why do I want to unmod/virginize/recherry my Wii? Because I'd like to just have it update via official Nintendo means and I'm under the impression it'd brick if I were to update with modifications.
