I've currently got the black scam screen up and am going to leave it up to see if this whole mess is just because I'm impatient (wouldn't surprise me). I can't even open hackmii, as it freezes at the initial scam screen. Is there some other way to access its uninstall utility? Now to read through the softmod guide... Thank you to all of you. I'm getting hopeful that my wii will survive! LOL

Here's the old hackmii installer v0.6
You can try uninstalling the old version and then try running the new hackmii installer again.

You can also try the following

Install IOS61 using dop-mii no patches enabled
Reinstall IOS36 v3351 with all patches enabled using dop-mii - The installer uses IOS36 to load.
If all the above fails, I have a few more ideas to try.

OK, I followed MauiFrog's directions and the result is that a. the 1 now shows up, but the wiimote unsyncs so I can't press 1 to continue and b. my homebrew is now upside down (after updating 61 (with all patches enabled, I wish I had seen your post earlier!).

The old hackmii worked (yeah!!) to uninstall homebrew, but then froze when it couldn't flush the sd (i run off a hdd), and in restarting it, I no longer have a hbc to launch hackmii from ROFLMA. GAWD.

Why would you uninstall HBC? Why install IOS61 with patches (or 36 for that matter)? Are you trying to load it from a USB device? Use an SD card.

If you wanted the installer to run on IOS36 it would need to Un-patched.

Reinstall IOS61 without the patches and try again. I don't know if your Remote will work after that but it will fix the upside down problem. Team Twiizers don't like piracy and coded HBC in the way to flip it upside down if you tried to use a patched IOS to run it. They may have killed your remote too, so it's worth a shot.

Didn't realize you were trying to do this via USB drive. What system menu are you on? I assumed you were running the installer via bannerbomb v1 or v2 is that correct?

@Krank - The installer loads with IOS36 but does not install to IOS36 (installs to IOS58). It should be fine for IOS36 to be patched.

If that were the case, the updater wouldn't work for anyone with a softmod. As most softmods keep IOS36 patched.

Give me some time, now, because I'm gonna have to go look up Messie's guide to try and figure out what I need to put on my sd card :P As it stands now, I have no homebrew to work off of.

What system menu do you have? This will let us know if you need bannerbomb v1 or bannerbomb v2.
