    what is gecko and stuff?

my wii is modchipped, but it's clean, meaning that it doesn't have any homebrew and wad and stuff like that.
    what is gecko os?
and should i get homebrew channel?
    what can it do?
because if it's just for playing old games like tetris, i think i'm not going to bother.

if you have a mod chip it has VERY few uses

Gecko OS can boot out of region games, and it can boot them after the fake signing bug was fixed (3.3) it can also run cheats for games, when it boots up

Wad Manager, can install Wii Ware, and VC games, though Wad's

    lots of emulators

uhh, as far as i use thats about it, so really unless you have no intrest in Wii Ware, or going past Firmware 3.2 then i wouldnt bother, in the future odds are this will be how we get "hacked" firmware, but lets see if it ever goes that far

Wii Ware are games nintendo made that can only be downloaded, and are 100% unique and new

like MegaMan 9, and such, there will be more as time goes on

and for installing it even if you dont ever use it, its 1 of those things i rather have incase than not

not to mention that you will need homebrew if you want to install the Opera internet browser (unless you want to pay for it from Nintendo on the shop channel).

For me, I couldn't imagine NOT having homebrew on my wii. I use the backup loader (granted I don't have the modchip that he does), I use geexbox to play media on my wii, I use wad manager to install different wiiware titles, I use ftpii to transfer files to and from my wii, and there are tons more that you can do if you have homebrew.

yes there is tazzy, but you have to have a modchip installed. Do you fall into this category? without the modchip you have to use zelda (I went across the street to the video store and rented it....best $2.75 I've spent!!!)
