    Little Problem..

I just went out and bought SSBB.

Now- When I try to start it it's giving me something about a system update.

I'm using HBC 3.3U U is for America correct?

    NTSC American Wii.

Is there a way to tell if my game is from a different region; or why it's asking me to update?

And if I do update, will it hurt my HBC/Backup Loader/etc ??

You should have confirmed with wherever you got it from but ssbb needs to add dual layer read support so usually that is the update. But I believe if you've played mario kart it also adds that support with its 3.3u update. (I could be mistaken though).

Is there anyway to tell what Region my game is from?
It was from New York so i'm pretty sure you're correct and it's NTSC, but just to double-check.

I haven't played Mario Kart on this Wii yet- so it may be a minor update?

If you are talking about a backup then the way to tell is to use Wiu1.1 or Wum to check the iso image. You can use ImgBurn to rip iso from backup disc to PC. My recommnedations is that you should NEVER buy backups, no one should be profiting form this ability to play backups on the Wii.

Nono, it's the original game, maybe I wasn't clear in my post. Hmm.

I bought the game, I have HBC and all that gravy on my Wii. No modchips, only softmodded.

The game is the original SSBB. But I don't know what region it's from, most likely my region which is USA, but is there anyway to be sure?

Also, when I load it- it tells me I need to update to play the game, I can either hit OK, and start the update, or Hard reset my wii.

Now my question is- does anyone know if this update will affect my HBC etc?

Or is it just a minor update in the game?

Thanks for clarifying that it is original. In that case if you purchased it from a regular store then it will be NTSC-U and from what I have read it contains 3.2 update which will not affect HBC even if it updates to 3.3 it will be the older version of 3.3 which is still fine.
