I'm one of those people where, "just because you can .. doesn't mean you should".

Personally .. IMO .. I dunno what's the big deal about playing DVDs on a Wii is about. I have a DVD player that will do that perfectly. I could understand if it was an HD-DVD or Blueray .. but not a normal DVD drive.

I don't have to worry about ruining my Wii or it's laser .. I don't have to think of what kind of bugs are in the program. I don't have to think about updates to homebrew to see if it will play this DVD Video.

I do use a Homebrew Media Player .. but it's MPlayerWii (0.6) .. only because I like having the ability to play my downloaded media files from SDCard or USB Flash.

    Again .. just MY opinion.

The Wii will recognize any size flash drive (i think), but only 2gb SD cards are allowed

i just put the DVDx and the Mplayer apps on my sd card, but when I open them up in the homebrew channel and click on Play DVD, nothing ever happens. I have to hit the home button in order to get back to the homebrew channel. did I do something wrong?

when i clicked play title one the blue light on the wii lit up around the CD slot but the movie never started and iI had to hit the home button to get back to the homebrew channel. Does it take a long time to start or something? I waited about 3 minutes and then gave up. How long does it normally take?
