Awesome response. I did do some research, changelogs for 1.1.3 and 1.1.5 mentions support for USB DVD drives. Also, there have been posts asking about it, but I haven't read a definitive answer if it works or not and how to get it to work.

I'm still having bother with 1.2.2. If I launch WiiMC from the forwarder channel, it all works right up to the point where it starts to load a video, at which point is does a dump. If I load from HBC, it works fine. Is it worth reinstalling the forwarder? Will that overwrite the current one? I don't want to end up with two!
    Thanks.

Ah. If it's already installed, the installer offers you the opportunity to uninstall. So, I've reinstalled (v1.9) but I have the same problem. Launching from the HBC works fine, but launch from the loader and it won't play videos. I'm using a SMB share.
Here's where I got started properly PLAYING the Wii: SoftMod ANY Wii

I don't know if it's something with the program or the forwarder itself but something isn't working right. No one has been able to get 1.2.2 working through the forwarder, I'm guessing we all get the same problem (Exception Program Occurred!). Hopefully the loader will be upped to 2.0 or maybe well see a WiiMC 1.2.3 soon. Till then I'm sticking with 1.2.0

A little off topic to the forwarder subject, but I am noticing WiiMC sounds flat when playing music, kind of like a bad radio station. Videos sound good, and I have to say I am VERY impressed with the way it plays videos. But unfortunately as a music player, it's leaving much to be desired. Any comment on how it processes mp3 files, and if it's a subject of future updates?

I've been trying to install the WiiMC Channel but everytime I try it says "Error: ....Nand Access....." I reinstalled the Homebrew Channel a couple of times and even reinstalled ios58 but I still get the same error. Any help would be appreciated.

hi, i have a black 4.3e. softmodded a few weeks ago by mauifrogs excellent guide, so have wiimc as standard, ive just put a film on to my sd to watch and started wiimc for the first time, it told me that i have an unsupported ios which may cause system instability, was that not installed in the guide or did i it balls up somehow? and this system instability, does that mean brick or hang? i can live with a hang but not the dreaded brick, i have read a bit and it seems i want ios58 i think it was or am i good to just go with it and see how it goes? many thanks

If you are on 4.3 you should have IOS58. Post a system check so we can see what revision your 58 is. If you do not know how to post a legible syscheck, then follow the guide in the spoiler below.

Your syscheck looks fine. Maybe reinstall IOS58-64-v6176. And see if you still get the error.
