Use the latest version of sysCheck, it will tell you if your drive is compatible with recordable DVD media.

I use the latest version of WiiMC, and have noticed the DVD function not working properly, when I pause a movie WiiMC freezes, so you're not the only one experiencing WiiMC problems.

Thanks for your quick response
I ran the report and it states that my console supports DVDs.
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong, or what I am missing?
Update: Just updated syschecker and now the line for DVD is no longer there....

I have no idea if this thread is so old I will not get a responce but I'm gonna try anyway. Let me start with my system info. I just got one of those black Wii's and modded it using this tut,http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html. The Wii is about 5 months old (got it used on Craigslist).
It did have the 4.3U firmware but as you know this mod steps it back down to 4.1U. The modding went fine. I put Wiimc 1.2.0 in with forwarder 1.9 so I have the latest of both files. Now on to the issue. I cannot, for the life of me, get the media streaming to work. I followed the directions to setting up the smb share on the Wii, that part is a no brainer, and I have Windows 7 home premium on my pc and have the folder I want to share shared correctly.
The files I'm trying to stream are also within the specs of "compatible formats". Now, when I try to stream a file only one file of the 6 files I have in the folder will show up. Then, suddenly, that file will disappear and a different file will show. But always only ONE file will show in my share folder. Then out of the blue even that one file will disappear showing nothing in the folder. I have tried formatting my sd card multiple times and removing the Wiimc channel and forwarder and then reinstalling them.
I have checked my Windows firewall and my router. Both check out fine. I am able to watch Netflix and also stream Youtube and radios via Wiimc. So I know the Wii's wireless is working fine. All the other streaming for Wiimc is working fine. I even enabled dmz in my router which didn't help. I am at a loss here guys. The only thing I can think of is the black wii just doesn't like to stream. Which makes sense because the black Wii doesn't play dvd's either. You guys have any suggestions?

Sound like a Windows issue rather than a Wii issue. Have you tried restarting your pc since you made the sharing changes? Windows 7 can be very finicky when is comes to file sharing.

Yes. I forgot to mention I did that multiple times also. I even tried using different folders on my pc as the share folder with no luck. I tried sharing just the one folder and I also tried sharing the whole entire directory right down to said share folder with no luck. I double checked my router to see if there was any settings I could change for the Wii and there is none.

Not sure if it would make a difference or not, but all of my shared folders are on the root of the drive and I have zero issues with WiiMC. Also, you might want to make sure your shared folders are not in one of Windows "protected" folders. I'm no networking expert, but I have seen issues when sharing files that are on the Desktop, or in the Windows or Program Files folders. Maybe try moving your shared folders to a folder on the root of the drive, then just make a shortcut to it wherever you had it originally.

Yes the folders are on the root of the drive. None in protected folders.

WiiMC 1.2.2 has been released, and two hours before that WiiMC 1.2.1 was released. I would install the newest version, usually when releases are released so closely, the newest version fixes a bug in the previous version, but I haven't tested WiiMC 1.2.1 so I can't really say if there is a bug in it or not.
Version 1.2.2 has been released to fix YouTube thumbnails for searches.
Version 1.2.1 has been released to fix YouTube stability problems. I’ve also updated the core to the latest MPlayer/ffmpeg, and as a bonus, I’ve added thumbnails for YouTube! Full changelog:
- Synced to MPlayer r34540 and ffmpeg a9bd29e15e8d
- Fixed HTTP bugs that made YouTube unstable
- Added thumbnails for YouTube
- Improved video resizing granularity (thanks eric!)
- Translation updates
- Other minor bug fixes
You should be able to get the newest version from the first post, or update by running WiiMC on your Wii and using the auto update function.
