I think this is my new favorite media player. I even bothered to set up SMB shares on this, I like it. Unless MPlayer CE gets a new interface, this is the only media player for me.

This player is great but it has a lack of support in the config area, for example I can't configure the subtitles properly as in mplayer ce, so I'll stick with the later until they fix this.

I had issues using the channel insaller. It kept trying to install to ios202 but would fail. Got the wad from wadder and installed manually to 249 which is where i wanted it in the first place with wad manager and it installed just fine. Incase anyone else is having this issue....

    No luck here with dvd-r.

I've got a recently-updated xbmc box that plays these discs, even mkv.
Can't yet get WiiMC to see the dvds.

Settings? No help there. I read the whole thread before posting, but this is the comment I most wanted answered.

I'll try again and report back...

wii mc returns to system menu

hoping for some assistance, i installed ios 202, it downloaded just fine, then i installed wiimc as a channel, which seems like it worked fine also. the problem i'm having is that when i access wiimc, it says "loading" for a couple seconds, then "finished" then i get sent back to system menu. i noticed that on the bottom left when wiimc is loading, there is a reference to ios 222. i have a large fat32 hdd plugged in with my backups, and i don't have any movie files on there right now. i don't know if all of this info is pertinent, but there it is. plz help. thanks

I don't know what channel you are refering to, perhaps you mean a forwarder. You need to have the WiiMC folder on your SD card in the apps folder for the forwarder to be able to run WiiMC. If you use the forwarder that MrGreg posted then you can have the WiiMC folder on either the SD card or USB HDD in the apps folder.

maybe i do mean forwarder, i'm not quite sure what the terminology is, but wiimc shows up on the system menu next to cfg loader. in my apps folder on the SD card i currently have the ios202_installer folder, wiimc-channel-installer folder, and other folders used to set up cfg loader. i downloaded the files from the wiimc site. if i use mrgreg's file i would put it on the SD in place of the files i already have in the apps folder? i'm planning on using the hdd to play the videos, would it be better to put the file on there? thanks alot for the help so far.

The channel installer you download is a forwarder, you need to download WiiMC 1.0.1, then unzip that, an apps folder will appear. Look in that apps folder and you will see a wiimc folder. Copy that wiimc folder to your SD:/apps folder. Now, put the SD back in the Wii and turn it on. Now your WiiMC should boot from the WiiMC channel on your Wii's dashboard.
