WiiMC <--- download the channel installer and put that on your apps folder, then run it through homebrew channel and it should install fine

Well, you're talking about pixelizing due to streaming extremely low video bitrate free service internet tv. The player can't make the quality of the stream better than what is sent from the webcast. The bottleneck is the source. The codec could use some improvement though i will admit on this player.
The cache tweak is for streaming through SMB stream from a pc directly connected to the wireless home network. That's the only viable solution to attain high quality video that still qualifies as a stream on Wii MC is to access the video files on your hd that are of higher quality than those webcast through internet tv that i know of.

How do i go about installing the ios 202 installer? I actually ran the installer but i get a "failure error" when it tries to download.

Download hermes v5 cIOS installer - HERE

Unzip the download, place the cIOS_installer folder in your apps folder and place the ios folder on the root of your SD card, now you can do an offline install of IOS202. When you select IOS202, use IOS57 or IOS60 as a base. I see no difference between the two but the WiiMC team recommends you use IOS57 as a base.

Ok, thanks, got it to install 100%. Still an issue...can not play any mkv files. I don't know if anyone confirmed that this player can play them. Any ideas?

I don't have any mkv files, but I have noticed that I cannot play any divx files either, I can play didrip xvid .avi files but the divx just wont play. Maybe there is a size limitation, meaning, perhaps the quality is too high.

I think you are absolutely right, everyone that says they can play it are playing an mkv with a video file of 480 or lower. Guess it would be pretty stupid to down convert a 720p just to play with the wii. I don't have any issues playing any divx or xvids so far tho.

From what I read on the official WiiMC forum though it seems to be a specific problem with WiiMC not decoding correctly flv videos. The same videos played on the PC work just fine so the problem is not the source.

Ok I just ran it for the first time and all i have to say is goodbye mplayer ce. This is way better. SMB shares load faster and its all built in the app, no more having to edit smb.conf files. GUI is also way better.
