I installed ISO58 and reinstalled HBC to get the installer to work. All is well, however, WiiMC still will not read a data dvd... I have tried +R and -R media.

Will it read a dvd movie or anything? Please say yes....... because if no than u would have found out by using the search bar that u have a new dvd drive which doesn't play movies or any disc but Wii discs.

Either way if u do your research u find answers.

The channel you installed is a forwarder, it looks to the SD card (or USB device) for the WiiMC application.

I only tried data. I have no need for another simple DVD player. Also, I am sorry for asking a simple question. I did use search but wasn't satisfied with my results (maybe I didn't use the good enough keywords)... Therefore I posted a simple question in a forum setup to help other users out.

I tried running the DVDX installer 3.4 it says "configured to use IOS36, Fixing up TMD signature, INstallling DVD stub ticket, Error - 1030002011 installing dvd stub ticket, error - 1030002011 installing stub.
Is there a different way to install DVDX?

I updated WII MC to 1.1.1. SInce I did this, the volume on quit a few videos (.avi) is messed up, scratching sounding. They ran great on the previous version, but can't remember which version it was. Is there a way to fix the audio. Grant it, alot of the movies are great.

I am definitely a noob and not too computer savy. But I did manage to softmod my wii yesterday using the Indian Jones method. Got all the basic apps with darkcorp and wiiMC 1.1.1. I've searched and searched on this forum and read 20-30 pages of this specific thread and on google. I'm trying to play avi files via thumb drive or if I have to an external HD. I've read about partitioning and don't quite understand it. Really need a little tutorial on each method. Rather not use the DVD player option (plus I tried playing a regular DVD and a DVD-R movie and WiiMC doesn't recognized). I got my Wii in Xmas 2008 and is running 4.3u.
