I was trying to install the WiiMC channel but the message about the IOS58 came at my screen. ( I Use 4.2E )
I download the IOS58 as a WAD file from NUS to my pc and i run it through WAD manager 1.5 and after that I try to run the WiiMC from HomeBrew channel and it say again the same message.
It was a mistake to run the wad file through the WAD manager 1,5? If yes does I damage my Wii and how can i fix it?
Also if the wad manager 1,5 is a wrong tool to install ios58 that is the correct one? ( I don't have internet connection to my Wii to download directly from the NUS.)

WiiMC is one of the most promising and useful pieces of homebrew software. However, when I run WiiMC either through fwd'er channel or through HBC it starts up fine which is NOT a problem at all But I've tried to install the application in Priiloader so that my Wii boots up into WiiMC directly and thus behaving as a true MC and I am getting this strange message:

"The current IOS has been altered (fake-signed). Functionality and/or stability may be adversely affected."

I am running the latest HBC and have installed IOS58-64-v6176

Any help to get rid of the annoying popup message? It's been a while since I installed an IOS on my system.

I'm not familar with booting apps with priiloader. If you are booting WiiMC (with Priiloader) from the HBC, then can you try to boot the WiiMC forwarder (with Priiloader) from the Wii Menu. Forgive me if this is not possible, but booting apps from Priiloader is not my thing.

Not all apps can be booted from Priiloader, for different reasons. My guess on this one is that IOS58 isn't being used to boot WiiMC, since meta.xml is ignored.

I think you are right. I almost reached the same conclusion after some research I did on the matter. Is there a way to tell which IOS is used by priiloader to run apps (wiimc in this case)? Can WiiMC tell us what the "current" IOS that it uses is? I think the WiiMC channel installer provides that info.

It seems that people have successfully used WiiMC with Priiloader:

I have installed WiiMC and it appears to be working well. I have been able to update it and view online media via WiiMC. However, I am unable to map either the SMB or FTP connections to my Wii. I am trying to get it to connect to my NAS (Synology DS209) this is the only device on my network that cannot see my NAS.

Could it be the settings on my NAS, Router, are user error putting in the network connection information.

    Thank you.
