Well i am aware of that, that the wii have not a strong processor to handle everything but my videos are not in high resolution.Does it make differnece to install IOS 202 from hermes 4 - 5 or 5.1?I tried 4 and 5.Can you tell me what the alternatives are for playing divx?Just need a program that supports the standard few divx files and subtitle function (all played from an ext hdd). Thanks

If you are loading through the official channel it is probably not detecting your drive. Try 1.0.4 or 1.0.6.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Rev 1.07 and 1.08 require the new HBC 1.08 installed with ios 58 for usb2 support.

I use WiiMC 1.0.9 and have HBC 1.0.1 installed, but I did install IOS58 from the installer.

IOS58 is an official Nintendo IOS, nothing to be scared of. Yes, it is needed for WiiMC 1.0.9 and the WiiMC channel installer 1.4, install IOS58 first, then install the channel.

Ok cool, but i have another problem..... for some reason, my friend's Wii won't go into the settings menu. I guess something is corrupted. When i go to settings, it freezes. I can go to data management, but not settings.

When I ran the ios58 installer, it apparently uses a network download. but i cant get to the wii settings to get his Wii onto my wifi network........ so either i need a fix for the settings, or i need a wad or sd install method for ios58.

You really need to post that particular problem in the bricked section. There are also guides over there that may address this particular issue. Trust me, you don't want to ignore it and simply workaround it.
