Thank you for that! I am trying this now.

UPDATE: Ok, the link you gave me's ios60/61 installer didn't work right (froze at 15/15, or just wouldn't make things work) but after a bit of searching I found this wad for it, I installed it with wad manager 1.3 and it works now! so thank you very much for the ios60 suggestion!

(Download IOS60 Tucha Patched from that site)

Has anyone figured out yet how to run wad's from sc card without installing them yet? The Wii's memory is very limited and would make life so much easier to not have to used up the memory on the wii.

Only if your on 4.0 system menu (Upgraded with the guide on this site)...
Then you can install to the Wii... then move to SD with the Wii Menu, I have about 5 pages of channels that where from wads on my SD card doing this.

Just be carefull not to do to many before moving them to the SD.

    (EDIT)
PS: I guess this does not really answer your question, being you have to install to the Wii 1st.. I was low on space on my wii.. but moved my channels 1st so I could install 4 new ones at a time.

Better than nothing i guess. At least dont have to keep them on the wii and can have as many channels as the sd card can hold. Im assuming that the large memory cards work now, say 8 or 16gb cards?

Yes, some cards better then others. I tried a Kingston and a Sandisk.. both worked with WiiStuff, but only the Sandisk worked with HomeBrew. On the homebrew site there is a list of what is confirmed to work and not work. (Sorry for no link sorta in a hurry)

Is it normal that wii takes much longer to scan channels on a 8G sandisk than my old 2G card? Both cards have the same contents.

I think the more you ahve the slower it takes to start loading. No matter the size of the card. My 1GB was fast when I had 2 channels, now I have 20 and it takes quite awhile to start loading the list.

@waco - capacity usage doesnt mean anything. I think the HC cards have a faster bandwidth in general. Think of it like USB 1 and USB 2. SD vs SDHC...

and for everyone, not all 8-16gb HC cards work with HB or wadmanager... make sure you check with this link below to double check what cards work, if there not listed then they havent been tested yet

@ClosetMonkii I know the loading time depends on the speed of the cards (HC being faster of course) But I do think how filled it is adds a delay before the wii actually starts showing the channels. loading itself will be the same no matter how full the card is, but channel list loading seems to take a bit longer to start the more channels you have.

I think the wii makes somewhat of an index file it checks before actually showing the list, in this case it would make sense that the longer the index file, the longer wait before showing channels starts.

bit off topic now I know, sorry :P

My 4gb card is filled with games and apps and I have never seen a loading difference when I first started loading it... but then again card manufacturer could be the difference... or seek times... who knows.. but oh wells
