How do I install Trucha Patch?

Hi can someone give me a guide or link me to one on how to install the trucha patch to read trucha signed discs? I've heard of Trucha Bug Restorer, but I don't think it will help because I'm installing, not restoring the patch.

Installing, restoring is the same thing.

Trucha Big was removed in 3.3 from all IOS, Trucha Bug Restorer puts it back into IOS that had it removed. We normally TBR IOS36 and use that to install cIOS.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

So if I TBR IOS36 on a 4.2E wii, it will read trucha-signed homebrew discs in case of a brick & from there I can install a cIOS to....say play backups?

    Thanks

No you'd need to have Trucha on IOS70 for that to work, or even a cIOSCORP cIOS70. Priiloader is an allround better solution to protect you, that and not doing anything too stupid anyway.

If you have a bricked a Wii enough that Priiloader is broken then it's not likely that a pre-Trucha patched IOS70 would help you anyway.

How do i trucha patch IOS70? I may install priiloader depending if I can find a way to autoboot homebrew/game discs or not. Also yeah trucha patched IOS70 would help priiloader isn't part of the equation if I boot recovery mode during the brick, I can use starpatch to autoboot Indiana Pwns or a recovery disc.

Download and unzip this to the 'wad' folder on your SD Card:
    IOS70-patched.rar

Load Homebrew Channel and run WAD Manager. Use default settings (iOS249, SD Slot, NAND Emu = Disabled)
Navigate into wad folder with the wiimote, highlight iOS70patched.wad, press A. Make Sure the Action is set to installed, and install. Once done, press home to exit.

So this IOS is already trucha patched, meaning I wouldn't need the restorer, correct? Will this IOS install over the previous, virgin one? Or will it be another IOS? Also the IOS is a wad wouldn't be installed as a channel in the system menu? What is meant by iOS249, SD Slot, NAND Emu = Disabled? My friends wii is completely virgin no previous hacks & on 4.2E.

The iOS70patched is already trucha patched. You would need a restorer if you haven't already installed an iOS with trucha enabled. Installing iOS70patched will overwrite the current iOS70 on your console. It will not be installed as a channel on the system menu. The default settings means the following: iOS249 (the iOS you will use for installation of fakesigned content, this must be trucha enabled), SD Slot (Source from where the wad for installation is), NAND Emu = Disabled (So it will not install to a NAND Dump for NAND Emulation). If you're doing this on a virgin 4.2, attempting to install iOS70patched will not work because 4.2 has no iOS with the trucha bug by default. So to get the bug, do this tutorial. It will also get you a cIOS to play backups, install a patched iOS70, install Priiloader and a backup loader:

That sounds REALLY complicated but nevertheless I'll try. NAND Emu disabling should be pretty easy I'll just not install it I don't even know what it is. I'll just follow the tutorial on your page & use geckoOS & backup launcher gamma as my launchers.

Hi I know i'm sort of wondering off topic, ShadowSonic 2 is there a patched IOS60 in that package in your softmodding tutorial?
