    Question Play Movies from xternal

Hi. I have a 250gig external hard drive with 2 partitions. I already use one to play wii backups with uloader. I was wondering it if is possible to put mp4 videos on the other partition and play them from the hard drive on the wii. So, is it? What media player would i need?

I have both mPlayer CE and Geexbox installed. I prefer the geexbox media hub better because there is more settings to change aspect ratios to better fit the movie to the screen. I wouldn't use mp4 videos to watch because they are really small. I have the same setup like you. I use a 500 GB passport harddrive and one WBFS formatted 350 GB partition for my wii backups and a 150 Gb NTFS formatted partition for movies, pictures, and music folders. I download movies off of Graboid.com which gives you 4 Gb for free trial membership and they have thousands of movies which are in the theater still. The movies will be in .avi format just drag and drop them in you videos folder and start playing.. I have about 100 movies on mine.

P.S. You can keep getting 4GB trial versions of graboid to download but the trick is using 2 computers, download the software on both but only use one computer to create accounts with new email each time. Dont log into your account on the one you create accounts on or the "create account" button will disappear. Then go to the other computer and log in with user name and password, and wa-la another 4 gig to download. Their membership is quite pricey if you go that route. I love Graboid since i dont put myself at risk with torrent sites. Been there done that.
