    Homebrew start question

Hello all i downloaded a free partitioner as required in a read me file i obtained from a school friend for homebrewing the wii.
I understand that it is required to partition a seperate external hard drive so u can use it with the wii.

My question about this is why is it that a jump drive isnt detectable using the partitioner to partition the drive?
Do i need to get one of the portable external hard drives to start the process?

First i would not use anyother homebrew techniques than the ones that are on this site... what sys ver is your wii and you can find the correct guide to softmod your wii in my signature depending on the sys menu you are on... also there is a link "WBFS" that is what is required to play games off your FD - HDD...

Do alittle reading here and then you should be fine... I WOULD NOT use other guides even if they worked for other people... use the ones here becasue they are been tried and tested to work and be safe..

if i am correct the version i am running is 4.3u as from what i saw in the system settings top of the screen. and i believe the readme is from this site as it says to come to this site for downloading things. I could be wrong about that though.

But i will definately check out the faqs in house on how to do it.

I am still curious though because dont i need to get an external hard drive to connect to the wii that the wii is able to read?
if so why is it that when i run a partitioner and im looking to partition the jump drive it only shows me on my screen C drive and D drive to partition
