Ca I keep getting an error on my wii when I try to backup a game on USB Loader GX?

I keep getting an error on my wii when I try to backup a game on USB Loader GX? I am using wii menu v4.2, and I just recently got usb loader gx and I run it from homebrew channel. I was originally using a 4gb sd card in an sd to usb converter, and the games would install perfectly. Now I'm using a small 40GB Hitachi hard drive. I formatted the hard drive on my computer and it works great there, but for some reason, usb loader gx keeps giving me an error when I try to install a game. I have all the right cIOS and rev stuff and, like I said, it has worked before on the sd card, but it doesn't work on the portable hard drive. Any help as to why its doing this and what I can do to fix it, would be greatly appreciated!

If my HDD is not in this list, does it mean my hard drive is not compatible with usb loader gx?

It is possible that it's not compatible, If it's not working for you now!

Make sure you have The HDD formatted right.

    Angry Wierd...

Okay I reformatted the HDD and created a wbfs partition (it was ntfs before). Now I can backup my games nicely and everything runs smooth except, when I try to run the game, the screen just turns black and I have to hold the power button to turn it off. I dont know if this means anything, but when I opened usb loader gx for the first time, they asked me to format or select a partition. They gave me a choice of two partitions (0.04gb and 37.98gb). I didnt know what it meant at that time so I chose to format the 0.04gb partition. Later I realized what happened, so now that I created a new partition, I can toggle (in the game load settings) the two different partitions, the first one I created (which tells me I have 0gb of space), and the new wbfs partition I just made.

I hope I didnt lose anyone and im sorry as I know my problem is big, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Heyya street surfer im new her so please check with some motheraters before trying my idea but here it go's

I had the same problem with my lacie 1tb hd i used a free partification program to split it up in 499gb and 480gb because the list says mine wont work above 500gb

    annyways to my mistake,
i forgot to put the primary on the 499gb on so i could see my games on th backuploader but when i tried to play it went black and thats was it.

    So i did this:

    Format it again:
download an use easeus partion master 3.5
make a new partion annysize you want and make it the primary partion
u can let it format it to fat32 and use wbfs manager 3.0 to make it a wbfs partion
    and u know the rest

Hope this works for u good luck
And shout if it dos second post and wanna see if i have helped someone with ther troubles

    I got it working!

When you first format a new partition for your HDD on usb loader gx, you are offered to format one of the partitions on your HDD. I chose the EISA configuration partition (0.39gb) and not enough room to install any games.

So what I did is I deleted the EISA Configuration partition, and formatted a new wbfs partition using wbfs manager 3.0. Now my primary partition has all my space on the HDD allocated on it.

    Thanks for your help everyone!
