Red face few questions. Please help

I have just finished the hombrew on my wii 4.2E

Now here is what is working...

    Emulators, fine
    PLaying backups from disc, fine
Usb loader seems to work but no usb hdd to test fully yet (ordered one)
    Edited dvd now working.

My questions are.. (as im a bit wary about if everything is fine)

    1. edited*** problem fixed

    2. Is there anything i need to be cautious about when burning downloaded games.

    3. Must i not use wii connect 24at all anymore?

    4. is it safe to still use bbc i player and the internet channel, weather channel, etc?

Will my wii now play pal and ntsc games? (edited, seems to play both fine)

    6. Do i worry to much

    Thanks

    2. Just good media (verbatim), DVD-R and slow speed. Always ensure you are getting the right region, or are aware that an out of region update could brick you.
    3. You can if you want, just watch for the update box. I could never stand the blue light flashing all the time.
    4. Yes, Yes and Yes. You may need Wiiconnect24 for the last 2.
    6. Probably. If you have to ask then you already think you do.

If your shopping channel asks for you to use the internet update to use it then just download the latest version through NUSD, install and you'll be fine. It's what I did.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

After reading your post i think i might just delete the weather, wii shop, internet channels, but keep bbc i player, probably never will use them or need them..

    Will this be ok to?

How would i now if its a out of region? i have been getting pal and ntsc and they work fine, if i just stick to this, will that be ok?

Is there a way of checking the region of a iso game before burning it?

    Thanks for reply

I just moved my uneeded channels to Screen 3. I have Internet Ch, Iplayer Ch and Shopping Ch on my main screen and the other tucked away as they are not updated since I turned off WC24. Once you installed the latest channel versions using NUSD they'll be good for a while.

Normally a game you acquire will sya in the title if it's PAL or NTSC. Provided you either block the update or use USB loading then you'll not encounter too many issues, however if you leave it to chance and put in an NTSC disc in your Wii and run the update then you could end up with a region or semi-brick.

If you load the iso in wiiscrubber it'll tell you the region, so will WBFS manager and WUM.

Anything that's not PAL is not your region.

In my hack list i have block disc updater enabled, and block online updates enabled so hopefully that will be ok for updating issues.

Il try to just stick to pal, (thought with it been modded ntsc was ok cos they played ok)

I also have [Disable 4.2E disc region checks] enabled.

Does all seem ok now and i can stop worrying hehe?

Cheers for help to now, u been really good and your time is well appreciated.
