    preloader updating?

    Is it ok to update preloader when it asks you?.

    yea it is but there is a problem it hangs when downloading the change log. the best way of updating it would be to download the latest version and run it via the homebrew channel it will update that way.

    Where can i get my hands on the latest version and how do i install it,sorry noob ive only just softmodded my wii today with the great guide on here.Thanks

    Right im a little confused now, i have a folder in the root of my sd card called apps in there is a folder preloader 0.29now in that folder, there is a boot.dol,icon,meta preloader 0.29 cred files. the pre loader i have just downloaded 0.30 i hope, has a read me,priiloader_v0_1.dol, and a doc file. Where do i put files so i can update to priiloader 0.30. Thanks.

    You can make a new folder inside the apps folder, name it whatever you want. Rename the dol file to boot.dol then drop your contents into the new folder. Put the SD card back in your Wii, load up through homebrew channel and install.

    Ok, do i leave the old 0.29 priiloader folder in there. Sorry for the noob questions,we all gotta start somwhere

    Doesn't matter. You can remove it if you don't think you'll use it again, or you want to free up space on the card.
