How does IOS interact with CIOS?
I read a very helpful guide on what cIOS and IOS is, but I'm still wondering about something. I know certain games use IOS on the wii, but I'm still not putting 2 and 2 together. In theory if you have the latest version of an IOS installed on your system, a backup disc your loading should work in theory, right?
I've made backups of about 60 games that work, but for some reason GH5 and Beatles are still giving me problems. I'm not looking for help with these games cause I know that threads exist about them, but mainly want to know how backups are launched.
For example, When you launch a game through neogamma r7 it loads off of 249 since that's what homebrew is installed on. After it loads does it pull from the original IOS's that Nintendo put on or is it running off of cios's from something like cios38rev14?
In the GH5 guide I read it had you install the wad of the ios needed for that game. I did that but it still doesn't work. (I now think that it's a problem in the way I ripped the game) but this still got me to wondering about the exact process in which backup discs are launched, and after that what they are doing with the different ios and cios's installed.
I'm fairly good with computer workings, but trying to translate the way the wii works into that mindset. I think that's enough babbling on my part. Can anyone shed some light on this? (insert generic smiley face like a 15 year old girl here)
