I know nintendo put this update out to kill homebrew, but is their intent also to brick for punishment?

If not how exactly are people getting bricked by this is they have the latest cios38rev14 installed? Don't comepletely understand how the bricks are happening if its not nintendo try to financially spank us.

From what i understand, they are getting bricked because something happens when it's installing/downloading the boot2 code that is supposed to overwrite your current one.

it's also bricking people that have changed their wiis region with an 003 error, it's basically a (failed) attack on homebrew/piracy...

i think it tried a hit on region free... proof for that is that region free hacks are unavailable on 4.2

It's only a matter of time before 4.2 is brought down. The new tutorial is proof. My friend and I were talking and he made the point that Nintendo only has a limited number of programmers, and they're against every hacker in the world who likes wii.
