Neogamma vs USB LOader GX

Hi, I am a newbie in the Wii mod scene ....I just successfully modded by 4.1U wii yesterday following the softmod 3.1-4.1 guy. However I have some burning questions which I can't really find from other posts (I have tried my best to perform search thru the forum)

1) Can USB Loader GX and NeoGamma 7 exist together on the wii? Currently I have neogamma 7 and is working perfectly, loading games from my hard disk without errors. Do I still need to install USB loader GX and will it affect Neogamma 7?

2) What are the key differences between the 2?

3) I have installed the preloader but it cannot find the hacks.ini file each time the wii boot up to the preloader. The hacks.ini file inside my SDHC is the US version. My wii is a korean wii set but flashed to US wii firmware 4.1U, is this the cause why hacks.ini cannot be recognised?

4) For newer games such as Wii Fit Plus, is NeoGamma 7 able to load it from hard disk? Will such new games force me to do a system update automatically since I can't get the preloader to work? I know that a lots of korean wii set flashed to US firmware got bricked during the recent 4.2 update (my colleague was one of those unfortunate ones that got bricked because of the 4.2)

Thanks for viewing my questions, looking forward to some guidance on the above

Do I still need to install USB loader GX and will it affect Neogamma 7? Yes you can haven't had no problems as of yet.Don't need it. It is all matter of preference.

2) What are the key differences between the 2? Usb Loader Gx you get to see covers don't know about neo gamma.

Need to use an SD card, preloader does not like SDHc.

4) For newer games such as Wii Fit Plus, is NeoGamma 7 able to load it from hard disk? Will such new games force me to do a system update automatically since I can't get the preloader to work? Thanks for viewing my questions, looking forward to some guidance on the above

You would only need USB Loader GX if you play to play your games from an external USB device such as an HDD. They co-exist and complement one another as both can read from a USB.

There are several benefits from switching from playing backup discs to playing from an external HDD. No more discs to switch in and out. The play speed from the HDD is even faster than that of an original game disc so that the stuttering audio and/or video that can happen with some disc backups does not occur. Backup games discs spin at 3X, an original game disc at 6X, USB HDD faster. The copying of a game to USB using the WBFS format strips the game of extraneous material including the update partition. A game ISO is 4.37GB, the game on a WBFS formatted HDD generally ranges from 2-4GB so you can get a lot of games on a hard disk. WiiFit is 0.83GB

To complete your preloader install use an SD card not SDHC, ideal is a SanDisk 2GB SD formatted on your PC as FAT32.

Thanks for your reply!

I went ahead to install the USB Loader GX. While it can detect the 2 games on my USB hard disk, when i tried to load them, my wii is apparently trying to look for the game from the disc drive
And then after a while, it tell me that there is problem with the disc and ask me to shut down when there is actually no disc in the first place?

Did i miss out something? NeoGamma does not have this problem and can load both games successfully fr hard disk.

Not certain how NeoGamma reads a hard drive, but USB Loader GX needs the WBFS-formatted partition to be primary and active. Did you use USB Loader to rip the games to the partition or did you just use WBFS Manager to add the ISO from the PC to the WBFS drive?

Yes, I am just merely copying the iso from my PC to the WBFS hard disk. So that's the reason why USB Loader GX won't recognise the files? Anyway, so far NeoGamma 7 works fine for me...even for the latest wii Fit..so I am very contended for now

Angry Wii Fit Plus on USB Loader GX

I have firmware 4.2E, a mod chip and the HBC on my PAL wii and i bought wii fit plus for my wii (pal aus game and pal aus wii), i have the wii balance board that came with wii fit, i have my wii fit on my HDD and loaded by USB Loader GX and i have no problems. The USB Loader GX is up to date and when i put my Wii Fit Pus on my hdd via the USB Loader GX it works fine, but it cant download the covers or any info (proberly due to its recent release) and so its just a black picture but i have the name and when i click on it to start it, it goes to a black screen and freezes, my wiimote stays on controller 1 and i have to turn off my wii via the wii itself, i cant get past this black screen, i cant load anything from the game itself. is there a way to get it working, i know the covers DONT effect this at all, and i dont wanna use another loader, i would like to know way to fix it so it works in my usb loader gx as normal with/like every other game that ive got...? is this an update thing for usbloader gx and should i just wait for an update to fix this? or is there a way to fix it myself? anyone else have the same problem?

WBFS manager 3.0 can copy this game to my pc but it freezes the program when i try to copy it back to the HDD, it wont download a cover either...?
