The link i gave you earlier is safe from bricking since it does not touch the System IOS or system menu. The only time when is touched is when it is time to update to 4.0 or 4.1 with Waninkoko's Firmware Updater so you can install Preloader v0.29. And that is pretty safe.

yes that is just what you should do, it's perfectly safe, as long as you stick to the guide...
here is the guide again, it is step by step what you should do. by the end of these you will have Neogamma backup loader, firmware 4.1, current cios249 needed to play backup games, and preloader to keep you safe from bricks... follow it correctly and you ll be fine

The process is basically that safe as for Ocarina codes, you can start reading from here:
    Gecko OS - WiiBrew

ok so do you load in gekko, and this gekko has the ocarina in it, i am really confused!

so i guess once you loaded in the homebrew, then you can load this thing in as well, i just want this ocarina thingamajig for my codes !

all that is left is a little more assertion and the compatibility of the sd card that i have!

btw what is the percentage of getting a bricked wii for just installing

    1) HBC alone
    2) ocarina/gekko
    3) making a NAND backup

for (3), is it necessary to have?
