Sounds like you've got a slight error going on there.

Bootmii (boot2) writes files to SD, bootmii IOS installs to your Wii memory as an application. When you click home in HBC you'll have the bootmii option come up, you can then load it at that time.

When I play wiiware on SD it copies the files over but I am not aware that they remain there. I haven't played them that much but you'd think I'd have noticed that.

Maybe you didn't install the whole suit of wads correctly as part of the upgrade. Did you successfully install patched IOS60?

cIOS38r14 will have no impact on your Wii locking up.

Do you still have bannerbomb on your SD card? It may be a silly question but that'll lock up your Wii. Try navigating these channels with your other card or an empty one and see if it makes any difference.

I haven't even installed bootmii yet - I did the daring and went right too 4.0

I think the files will delete themselves once the system has been rebooted - again - system keeps locking up in the Options for me to check

I did the IOS 60 update first without any problems - Do I need to reinstall any others?

The wii shop channel works and everything else I do - except when I get in options it either looks up trying to get to a page or locks up when try to go back to the menu

No bannerbomb on SD card - does it when card not even in system

I don't want to go back if I don't have too but what else can I do - I have to have control of the wii options.

    Thanks again

I'd run waninkoko's firmware updater 4.0 again if you've already installed the patched ios60.

It wont allow me to reinstall - After the disclaimer I hit A like it says to and then it goes to a screeen that says "press any button to restart... then it restarts???

The system is only locking up after I go into - Wii options - Data Management - Save Data - Wii - After I get in I can't go to SD tab as it locks up - And I can sometimes go back a couple times but it for sure lock up when exiting to the menu - So basically It starts to act funny as soon as I get into the wii memory - I can get out if I hit the home button just after getting into the wii memory

??? - Could it be a corrupt save game file??

It regards to the wiiware - It seems that each app you load from the SD get's put into a save file under channels 'SD Card Menu Data' - At least with the wii ware - each time you load a new app - it overwrites what was there previous

Now this file doesn't get deleted until you play a game from either backup channel or a usb loader - it stays there even if you power the system down - only after you run a game does it get deleted from the system

Again, only locks up after I go into wii memory

Well I've never looked in my Wii system menu after running a Wiiware so maybe that's a feature, saving you time if you consistently run the same game as it would not need to copy the same data from SD to NAND over and over.

To be honest I haven't a clue why this is not working properly. Such a small glitch in the System Menu but nonetheless annoying. It's not even a proper brick as that wouldn't even enter the settings without giving you an error message. It's certainly not a low level brick as that's a black screen at boot job.

You should have no difficulty installing Patched IOS60 again using wad manager. Don't uninstall any system wads or IOS, really don't, not ever!

Worst case scenario you need to install system menu 4.0 via wad, but I'd make sure you have at least preloader first and it would be close to a last resort.

Also on the option table is waninkoko firmware update to 4.1 and then back down to 4.0 using waninkoko formware updater 4.0 again, this should work as it will be showing non a 4.0 installation.

same here with the system settings menu. Easiest 'fix' is to use maintainance mode (+ and - on black startup screen/health warning) then you can navigate system menu fine. I will find out what causes it......one day!

Ok - so I've installed 4.1 and the glitch is gone - Now is there a point to go back to 4.0?

The 4.0 installer through Homebrew channel wont run now still - I press A and then it tells me to restart???

My backup channel works - Coverfloader works - Shop channel works - wiiware from SD works

Again for what reason should I go back?

Does bootmii work for 4.1 as well as preloader?

    Cheers,

    Scotty Mac

Well if it ain't broke don't fix it. bootmii will work with 4.1 as will preloader (I believe)

The change from 4.0 to 4.1 was very minor, some bug fix to do MotionPlus. Give it a go and see how you get on with it.

No problems yet with 4.1 - Had to redo Sports resort witht the alt .dol works good now

I was wondering about these ios - I was reading the sticky on 3.1-4.1 softmod
and didn't know if I should install them or not:

    IOS38-64-v3610 - Rev 14 already installed

Not sure what these ones are for or if the updater added them? Thought I read for newer games? I have TW 10, Sports resort , New Gi Joe , Ea active, which were all needing 002 fix but work fine

    IOS50-64-v4889
    IOS53-64-v5149
    IOS55-64-v5149

Going to apptemp the bootmii and Preloader but have to get my hands on a SD card larger then my 512mb

No way of using the HD to backup nand?

    Cheers,

    Scotty Mac
