    Hi

    Great guide! Works well! I'm running The forwarder to Mplayer CE on the SD watching vids on the HDD. No complaints at all, its awesome.

    I have a question tho; I am using PAL Wii, with 4.1e. When I go into Mplayer, it is the wrong screen standard(PAL/NTSC) for my setup (not 480p I figure), because there are bars at both sides of the screen. I tried the options but there is nothing about regions/screen standards. I have since tried WiiMC, and it had no such screen problems, no black bars on sides of screen, which is much better IMO. It wasnt a file format/size problem, cause the same vid in WiiMC would go all the way to the edge of the screen. I'm happy to use WiiMC cause it appears to do a pretty good job too.

    I am using Memorex DVD-R and Backups play fine, but in wiimc and mplayer ce the discs can't load. I am on 4.1u and a friend has a 4.2u. Was wondering if Something is wrong with an IOS that makes these discs not play even though they play fine for games. Anyone know?

    Doesn't help you're using junk 4th tier media (Memorex doesn't make ANYTHING).

    Then..

    In the Mplayer CE folder on the SD card there'll be a smb.conf file.

    Code:
    #Max 5 samba shares (review menu.conf to add more samba browsing)
    #no ip or no share means samba disabled
    #It's important use quotes (") on shares with blank spaces, see example 2

    #Samba share1 (smb1:/)
    ip1=192.168.0.1
    share1=films
    user1=
    pass1=

    #Samba share2 (smb2:/)
    ip2=192.168.0.1
    share2="My movies"
    user2=
    pass2=
    Then it's just a matter of editing the details to match your PC configuration.

    Enter your PC Local IP, it'll not likely be 192.168.0.1 but something similar.
    Enter your Share Name, noting that separated wrods must be enclosed with quotes.

    Once you reinsert the SD card and launch Mplayer CE it will allow you to connect to the shares.
    OMFG THANK YOU
    that was so easy and it works very well...
    TY TY TY

    Edit:
    only thing i am having trouble with is Youtube.

    read every guide i could find and it seems so simple i cant have messed it up... changed the channel name to my youtube account name but none of the options work (subscriptions, favorites, etc)

    Any ideas on how to achieve this. II have a newer Wii, thus can not use DVDr's

    I want to play DVD's from either a network share or USB device.
    Most of my DVD's are on my Hard drive in ISO format, can any of the media players, play directly from this format? If not
    Can it be achieved by mounting the image as a drive letter and sharing that on my PC
    then linking the media player to that share?

    I just tested this out for you and so far its not working. I can see the share if done properly but all it finds are the DVD TS folders and cant play the vob files properly.

    Your best bet would be to begin either converting the DVD to MP4 or AVI if you wanna keep them as data or start burning them to hard copy and play them on Mplayer (or similar).

    As an update, Mplayer is awesome, but I more often use another software now where I can set the IP address through the interface. My own fault for not assigning the IP’s in my house by mac address (I’ve done it now, but a few computers were new and not set yet.)

    cant seem to get this to work

    tried using the cios for mplayer ce and the mplayer ce that u linked in the first post. also tried many other ways to get this to work and no go. everything else is working great on my wii(emus, backups, vc) but I cant seem to get this to work.

    mplayer ce loads fine and then I go to load a dvd and it tries mounting, then the mounting dvd message disappears and everything locks up and no dvd loads. tried different dvds and not putting in in backwards.

    also updated all the iso using the update all iso tutorial that is posted on the forums here and still no dice.

    can someone please help me figure out what is going wrong here. thanks.

    Question question + file deleted

    Hi, newbie question I guess:
    So, I have MplayerCE allready through HBC and works great, even play files from burned dvds, I was wondering how to make MPLCE into a channel so I could run it faster, I assume all I have to do is download "MPlayer CE Forwarder channel" from original post onto SD card and install it with WAD manager? Can do, have tried that with internet channel. But the wad: "The file has been deleted as per a copyright notification."
