    Oh well. I do have a new Wii. That explains why. At least it plays avi files now. I have hundreds of movies like that. Are there programs that play avi files from USB?
    Can I use the USB loader apps to play game backups?

    Thank you.

    Network Share

    All,

    I've been trying to load via the network and can't get it to work. I have a NasLite server with a share /DISK-0/Videos. I've tried various combinations under the share1 like below but can't seem to get it to work. Can I use a path or does it only work with a single name under the share? Can you use paths?

    uotes (") on shares with blank spaces, see example 2

    #Samba share1 (smb1:/)
    ip1=192.168.0.1
    share1=films
    user1=
    pass1=

    #Samba share2 (smb2:/)
    ip2=192.168.0.1
    share2="My movies"
    user2=
    pass2=

    It's if you have D3-2 drive, not if you have 4.2 SM. Now if you're saying out of the box it came with 4.2, this should be D3-2 drive.

    As another option, I believe WiiMC is a viable alternative to MPlayer CE in this situation.

    Thanks to all of u helping on this!

    Everything is installed and running on mine, but I'm having issues with video playback skipping around. I'm running MPlayer CE v.75on 4.1 firmware. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

    Thanks in advance!

    one more question if you will...

    Thankyou for responding so quickly!

    I read through this and it seems great...but I was left w/ three options and would rather have input from the pro's (like you)...

    1. Install wiimc 1.0.4
    2. Run the wiimc channel
    3. Make some additional changes to mplayer ce

    I'm really not that tech savvy, but through the tutorials here I was able to softmod and downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1. All I want to be able to do is:
    1. Backup my wii games to hdd (have this down now)
    2. Play my avi and mpeg4 videos through some media player on the wii
    3. Potentially stream Netflix later on

    Of the 3 options listed from the post you sent me to...what do you think is most helpful or reasonable?

    MplayerCE is great but WiiMC is better.Just use wiimc instead of mplayerce.....if you want to easily launch it then install the forwarder channel it will appear on your system menu but it will load from

    usb or sd :\apps\wiimc\.boot.dol

    You can back up your netflix disc to your usb loader and load it that way look around the forum as i cant answer in the thread as it is off topic....
