DVDx and bootmii are most certainly not the same thing. DVDx is required in order to watch DVDs and other video files.

http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew/200...r-ce-dvdx.html will help you with your video file endeavors!

After a bit of reading I have learned that the hackmii installer package includes bootmii, dvdx, and installs HBC so yes I do have DVDx installed. I am at a loss here. I'll keep fiddling with the installers for MPlayerCE and IOS202 and hope for the best, I suppose..

Try using Mplayer CE v0.75. I get the same error when using AgentX. I have my external as only NTFS but Mplayer does recognize it. It also recognize files I have on the SD card which is in FAT32 format.
Come to the Irc room to get help or just have fun

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

Wow. Oddly enough, MPlayer CE 0.75 never seemed to work for me before. However, I installed IOS 202 via hermes loader v5 and now, following thucncai's advice and trying MPlayer CE again, it worked! I am watching a movie via my USB HD finally!!! Thanks so much to all that helped

there is a file called share.conf that you have to edit with your share name, your user name and password as well as the ip address where the share is locared.

I need some help with using playlists on mplayer ce 0.75. I used windows media player to make a .m3u playlist file.
When i try playing it on mplayer at the top left part of my screen something is "blinking/switching really fast" saying "loading voad subtitles or sth similar and it wont start playing my music.
    Ty in advance.

I'm getting this issue. It'll show line 1:"loading mplayer ce", line 2: "found ios202: reloading."
But it'll hang there forever. Did I not install 202 correctly?
I also saw that MPlayer CE's guide says you no longer need DVDx cuz it can play them itself now. It doesn't seem like anyone comments on using JUST MPlayer, they just say geezbox is broken or green and DVDx works great.

got a different revision of MPlayer but it still just says "Loading MPlayerCE v.0.76 ...."
I tried to reinstall the 202 using 36 but I don't know why that would stop it loading, that is just for usb2 speeds i thought

I still can't get CE to run, but regular MPlayer seems to work, well, run anyway. I apparently misunderstood. I thought it could play off my ntsc portable, also i tried several dvds and it just hangs when i hit play
