I read that it has to do with the forwarder. Is there any other one to suggest?
    Thank you.
same thing was happening to me - uninstall the forwarder you are using now via wad manager and install this one. I got that from the GBATemp site and it works awesome!

Let me know if it works! Hope that helps!

    Hi,

    First post here.

I have a Black Wii with 4.2, which I've soft-modded with the wiihack guide. Got the HBC, priiloader, WAD Installer 1.4, etc etc. all to see if I can use the Wii as a DVD player (original ones, not copies).

I've tried with several MPlayer versions, and did not manage to play DVDs (it freezes while mounting). I believe it must be this DVDx v2 / DVDx v1 thing.

So I'm trying now to follow this guide, but the first download (DVDx Installer - hackmii installer beta2) is strange, it only has 4 files: CREDITS, LICENCE, README and installer.elf. You said to put into the apps folder, but does'n it need a boot.dol or something to be properly launched by the HBC?

Need help here. I think it's not a n00b request, it's just that it looks like something is missing from the first post, or it could be better explained...

    update:

I've installed the MPlayerCE with cIOS, now it's stuck on "Loading MPlayer 0.75...", I don't even get the menu...

Also, I've tried first to install into 202, got a -1017 error, then I switched to 249 and it was OK. Did I screwed something, or it's OK?

Yes, I've tried MPlayer and a couple of others and it won't load or play any DVD's.

Ok, tried the MPlayerCE 0-761 b1 7/12 from the mplayer-ce devel team at google code, no go.

I had to launch again the cIOS222 app to restore the IOS202 and IOS222, and it's back to the start: I can see the menu, but it does not play DVDs.

I guess I just have to sit and wait for the MPlayer people to launch a version that uses DVDx v2. Looks like the black Wii hardware is still winning, but I'm sure in a couple of months we are able to play DVD movies from them...

i am wondering i just installed mplaye 0.75, using fowarder, and installed the cIOS.
before i had only installed mplayer and fowarder but it continued to crash from the menu, so i taught it was a playback issue so installed the cIOS but now it won't even load. I get loading v.0.75 any ideas?
