Maybe backing up of NAND isn't compatible with your SD card, yes it's sometimes fussy about it when it'll happily copy the bootmii files across.

For people having problems with bootmii, heres the installer beta2 and a nice very easy to follow readme i put together.
Thanx to dogeggs and tealc for all their help.

    Code:
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tmtnyzj5zmm
Turn your wiiconnect OFF before doing the bootmii install

Is there any other way of preventing your Wii from bricking as i am having trouble understanding bootmii and i have read endless threads about it?

Hey guys been doing a lot of reading on this myself, after reading the guide posted by skagg i only have one more question, so after i have turned off wiiconnect and installed bootmii i can take out the newly nand SD card and put my old one back in and use my wii like i have been before? Also is there a risk in brickin my wii during the installation of bootmii or the recover or nand file because at this point thats the only thing stopping me from installing bootmii

    Thanks for your time

Its Tealc and dogeggs that are the legends,i could,nt get my head around swapping out the sd card while installing, but both DE and tealc guided me in the right direction,so i just put this together,it is very easy.

Trunks-it took me 3 attempts and 2 diff sd cards to get my nand backup, first it got to 1 block and gave error 2nd time it got 3/4's through and gave error 3rd time and diff sd card it made it all the way through and gave me a 528mb nand backup.
If it stops or errors during the backup, just turn off your wii,and start the nand backup again, preferably with a diff sd.
And yeh once u got the backup, either keep the sd card safe,or transfer the log file, bootmii folder and the nand backup to somewhere safe on your pc,and reuse your sd card as normal
