    I just tried it out on my Wii with the Front SD Card Work Grate!!. I've been looking for a program like this for a while now

    CE Mplayer from the Homebrew site will do what you want to do. Set up the SMB portion of it and share the videos on your computer.

    Yes I do this all the time. Use mplayer ce and setup the smb.conf file to access your pc files. But does not work with HD content.
